Carry On My Wayward Son

Tanner cruised the highway in his Mustang, roaring down the
road. He was on his way to a town called Sand Springs, a little
town in Oklahoma. Something about 5 people missing and claw
marks seen around the town. Sounded like his kind of thing. He
checked the visor, feeling his knife up above. He'd taken this
knife from a demon that he'd exorcised, and it seemed to be the
only thing to kill a demon. He figured it was probably best to
always carry it. He was about 50 miles out of Sand Springs, the
barren stretch of road ahead of him seeming endless.

Ayil glanced over at Crowley as they sat in hell. "Is it just
me, or is it a little chilly?" she said.
Crowley gave her 'the look' and said, "I need you to do
something for me, sweetie. There's a werewolf in Sand Springs,
Oklahoma that isn't listening very well to Daddy. Take care of
it for me, will ya?" He whisked away.
Ayil disappeared into the veil and popped up into the small
town. "Hmph, grungy place," she said.

Tanner pulled into the small town, heading for the nearest
motel. He checked in, moved a few things into his room, and then
went back to his car. He pulled out and started cruising the
town, scanning the area for anything suspicious at all. His
intel was good. Claw marks in various spots around the town.
That narrowed it down some, but not much.

Ayil found the nearest library, using the web like any normal
person would do. She looked up the five victims and went with
the latest death. THe family of Jo Anderson, a female... twenty
nine... mother and father... 'nothing suspicious' she thought.
"Hold on a minute," she mumbled to herself. Jo's brother, twenty
two, was at the football stadium where Jo was killed. 'So as the
witnesses say...' Ayil decided she would, well, 'interrogate'
this brother, Adam.

Tanner parked in a local park. He looked out at the town square.
Library, Albertsons, Town Hall, various shops. Seemed like a
quiet little town, save for the monster running around
slaughtering people. He pulled up a website on his phone,
checking the victims. Latest death was a girl, looked to be
around 30. Said she had a brother who was supposedly there when
it happened. He pulled the car out of the park, headed for the
place of death. Might as well check the area out before going to
talk to the kid.

Ayil popped up silently behind Adam and covered his mouth,
turning him around and held onto his right shoulder. Standing
face to face, she saw the fear in his eyes. "No chance of
running away," she said. Inside his home, she checked around.
Nobody here. She carried him over the the dining table. "Have a
seat," she said civilly. "Let's have a chat about your sister. I
have a big problem with my boss that I need to fix and you're a
little in my way. I won't hesitate to kill you, so if you tell
me everything you know, I will be on my way."

Tanner pulled into the parking lot of the stadium and got out,
walking in and onto the field. He looked around, studying the
walls and grass. Blood was still stained into the ground, claw
marks on the walls. He bent down and picked up a tuft of fur.
"Yeah. I was afraid of that." he muttered. "Werewolf."

Adam stammered, "W-well... it all started when I had football
practice. Jo was watching in the stands and I remember her ex
boyfriend coming up to her. They talked a while and she went off
with him. I went to check it out and I saw them arguing under
the bleachers. He hit her and she ran away crying."
Ayil pursed her lips into a thin line. "What was the ex
boyfriends name?"
"Anothony Tiburcio."
"And I noticed that he was another victim. Was there anybody
that had anything against the two of them?"
Adam thought for a moment. "I remember Jo had this friend. A
guy. They were talking in the living room once and he didn't
sound too happy."
Ayil smiled sweetly. "Thank you Adam." Then she whisked away.

Tanner went back to his car. The vic had a brother. His next
move would be to head to the house, talk to him. He pulled out,
heading in the direction of the house.

Ayil caught wind of the third victim. Her name was Ashley.
Apparently her and Jo had been friends since the third grade.
Just from asking around the town, seeing as it was small, she
found out that the two were inseparable. Everyone acted as if
they were family around here and they were all grieving from the
loss. She spoke with Ashley's parents, sending her condolences,
and they told her Ashley was trying to get through to Jo. She
hadn't been acting herself at all before she died and Ashley
simply tried to help her, that was all. Ayil left the parents
with a sweet goodbye and sat at the center of the city, a statue
of the mayor. She looked at the busy street, and city hall
behind her. She figured she'd wait here until night to scope out
the werewolf before he attacked again.
