Sophia began to smile. His voice was amazing. She quickly looked
through her bag and grbbed out one of her business cards.

They're covering blink-182. Austin still thinks his lyrics suck
and won't put them in songs just yet, but his band members are
trying desperately to convince him. He skims through the crowd
as he's singing, looking for a friend that he invited that
didn't seem to turn up. It didn't really affect him.

Sophia clapped. A few others joined in and soon the whole pub
was whooping and cheering.

The band finishes the song, and moves on to another cover of The
Killers. Austin didn't want to put small talk mid song to waste
time. He didn't need to play guitar in this, which kept his
hands on the microphone stand.

Sophia continued to listen and watch them. Her friend had
already left but Sophia didn't really notice.

Patrick* feels one of his band mates bump into him and struggles
to keep a straight face, but knows he has to keep singing. He
knows the song off by heart anyway, even if his mind is
wandering slightly. He moves his guitar up his torso slightly to
keep it out of the way for this song.

etching closer to the stage with every step.

The band finishes up the the set with one last cover, of Brand
New. The song isn't the easiest for Patrick to sing, considering
he has to rasp most of the lyrics. It's mainly for his other
band members, for them to show off. He doesn't really mind, as
he starts strumming lightly at his guitar again.

Sophia sat down at the back of the stage, watching them perform
yet another song. She smiled and pulled out her phone, videoing
them as Austin sang the song. If they accepted her business
card, she would show her boss and hopefully they could organise
a contract.

Patrick stops singing, partly because he is breathless, and
plays his guitar with the band until the end of the song. He
reaches down to pick up his plastic water bottle, taking a large
sip and jumps off the side of the stage.
