The toned down, more private, agenda must be beneficial for the
       grandchildren.
It is possibly the first death of a very close relative and to
have to perform in public is hard enough.
The service was quiet and moving.
Huge respect to Margrethe. She is strong in her sadness.
She did not deserve the desertion of Henrik of the past year...
but such is the nature of dementia, unfortunately.

Marge almost smiling in one of those photos, she could very well
be in shock or on some meds to get through this. Christian
looks a bit hard hit, poor thing.

I noticed that too, that Christian is very sad.
Marge has smiled a lot. Maybe she still hasn´t realized - it is
       a lot to take in.
My uncle (my mother´s brother) and aunt were happily married for
many, many years until he passed away two years ago.
She is so sad. As she told me: "He told me he loved me every
single day - imagine losing the!"
My sweet uncle, I miss him too, he was like dad to me.

Marge is doing the Queen embracing the nation mother figure part
and she is playing a blinder. If she was weeping and needed to
be held up , all talk of Henrik would cease and Marge , her
health and well being and her queenship would be questioned. As
it is she is shown while her lost is personal it’s sort of like
the lost is her nations loss and she will be at the helm and
continue with strength , dignity and grace .
While I don’t question Mary is sad , seen a little video of
today and it’s like it’s a pre run for her , she does look very
smug in some parts and it must have gone through her head that
if the situation was like for Queen Ingrid, she would be Queen
consort now. But as is Daisy has a steel spine and I’m sure she
has thought , not your turn Missy , not your turn yet .

But wouldn´t that make her a mean old lady towards her son?
I am not sure she thinks the way you describe, I just thinks she
takes her status as queen for granted - and that it is for life,
       naturally.
