'Prince Harry and Ms Meghan Markle are pleased that members of
the Armed Forces will play such a special role in their Wedding.
The Military, and these units in particular, hold a great
significance for Prince Harry and the couple are incredibly
       grateful for their support.'
       - Kensington Palace
       The Household Cavalry:
Members of the unit will form a staircase party at St George’s
Chapel at Windsor Castle as part of the wedding, while the State
Trumpeters and a Captain’s Escort will also provide ceremonial
       support.
Prince Harry joined the regiment in April 2006, serving two
tours of Afghanistan and rising to the rank of Captain.
Royal Navy Small Ships and Diving:
The unit will be among several lining the streets of Windsor
around the castle because Prince Harry serves as their
       Commodore-in-Chief.
       Royal Marines:
Marines will also be among those protecting the streets of
Windsor and Harry is their Captain General after he took up the
role last December when his grandfather Prince Philip retired.
       3 Regiment Army Air Corps:
Prince Harry served as an Apache Pilot in Helmand Province,
Afghanistan with 662 Squadron, 3 Regiment Army Air Corps, who
will also be among the personnel on the streets.
       The Royal Gurkha Rifles:
Prince Harry served with the 1st Battalion The Royal Gurkha
Rifles in Afghanistan in 2007 and members will also make up part
       of the street presence.
       RAF Honington:
Personnel from RAF Honington will be among those on the ground
around Windsor because Harry is their Honorary Air Commandant.

Did we get all these breathless reports about wedding details in
the weeks leading up to Wills and Kate's wedding? I remember a
discussion about trees lining the aisle in the abbey, but not
stories introducing the florist, cake baker, military regiments
involved and where they'd be standing, etc. Or maybe they were
in the news and I just missed them. I keep expecting to see an
article announcing the name of the couturier making Meghan's
       bridal underwear.
