Hurricane Florence is coming ashore just south of Norfolk,
Virginia, where I live. Mr. Chris and I are stowing all the
outdoor furniture in our garage, getting in a supply of food and
water, and hoping for the best. Keep the RC home fires burning
until I can return!

Hope you are all stocked up, Chris!
We just learned the hard way the importance of: candles,
batteries and non perishable food. Plus in our case, wood to
fire up an oven, because we can actually cook things on top of
it, we found out (it is in the living room)!
On the island where we have our holiday house, all power was cut
to the entire island. Sea cable breakage.
No storm though, we didn´t have to deal with that!
Again: STAY SAFE, Chris, thinking about you!

I'm back, safe and dry. The hurricane was terrible for North
Carolina, which is just south of my home, but we here in Norfolk
were spared almost all of the wind and rain and floods. The
storm is still causing devastating floods in parts of North and
South Carolina. Mr. Chris and I have been clearing small tree
limbs and branches from our yard, but that was the extent of the
damage to us. We were VERY fortunate. We have friends who live
in Wilmington, North Carolina, where the hurricane came ashore.
They left home ahead of the storm and went to stay with their
son, who lives in the Washington, DC suburbs and they're still
there with no idea when they'll be able to go back home. All
roads in and out of Wilmington are flooded and closed and the
military is delivering food and water to those people still in
the city. Dreadful.

Thanks for checking in, Chris, I am very glad you weren´t
affected too much.
Sending thoughts to those who were/are.
Now Iceland will get it in a few days - we always do. But the
storms have always calmed down quite a bit by the time they hit!
