I'm willing to bet they'll be open tomorrow, though...people
just love to spend $6 for a cup of coffee! ???

I thought those prices were only practised in NYC! :o

Starbucks prices are HIGH no matter where you live. Mr. Chris
goes to Starbucks every morning for coffee with friends. I tell
him he's sending us to the poor house on caffeine alone.

The weather here is full Summer. Yesterday it was 41 degrees
celcius. Stiflingly hot and very windy.
Today is still and a cooler 27 degrees max expected.
I was guzzling chilled water with lime slithers and iced lemon
cordial. Today coffee sounds good.
Starbucks coffee in Australia isn't the best coffee.
I know plenty of people who might pay five or six dollars for
coffee but not at Starbucks.
In terribly cold weather I prefer a hot chocolate; the best
being a dark, unsweet hot chocolate from a local French bakery.
I'm really sad about your chickens, Duchess of Verona. Poor
little things.

It doesn’t matter from today onwards if we get snow , heavy rain
or high winds. The 1st of February is Lá Fhéile Bríde, St
Brigid’s Day and the first day of Spring. It’s really a joy to
us , we never go by meteorologist or moon cycles. Every Irish
child and adult go by the exact months we learnt in school.
Winter ("Geimhreadh") - November, December, January (Samhain,
Nollaig, Eanáir)
Spring ("Earrach") - February, March, April (Feabhra, Márta,
Aibreán)
Summer ("Samhradh") - May, June, July (Bealtaine, Meitheamh,
Iúil)
Autumn ("Fómhar" Harvest) - August, September, October (Lúnasa,
Meán Fómhair, Deireadh Fómhair)

Love this. Such a beautiful language!
Just popped in here to say it is COOOOOLD in Denmark, we are not
used to that, but it is nice, I think. Sun and frosty weather
opposed to rain, wind and GRAY days.

We are under a red weather alert the beast from the east. Ive
never seen snow like even as a girseach (school girl) the snow
is like what some of you would be used to , dry snow. But sure
we’re not use use to it and the shops are all out of
............ bread . Yes bread , seemingly we live on bread ,
toast sandwiches , Tayto sandwiches , beans on toast , eggs on
toast , fried bread , bread and butter pudding ect . Its
unbelievably. Because we’re not use to it schools are closed ,
shops closed , hairdressers, supermarkets are closing early and
in Leinster and Munster everyone bar emergency services are to
be in home by four o clock tomorrow.

Yes, this Russian winter is extraordinary, it is all over
Europe, North so South, East to West.
Denmark has gotten a lot of snow. but strangely, none in
Copenhagen where I am! But it is COOOOLD nontheless. Would be
nice with some snow now that it is so cold, makes things
prettier - for a while at least.
I hope everything gets back to normal soon for everybody!

We've been getting news about your cold weather over here in the
US. Brrr! Hope you all don't have to go outside until the
spring thaw!

We won’t move from the house today as storm Emma and the beast
from the east battle it out this evening.
