Louis is cute. I like all three names.
The names are not only traditional but not introducing anything
new except Arthur.
I'm surprised that they chose to re-use one of George and
William's names..and also re-use Charles (Charlotte).

The "Louis" is in honor of Louis Mountbatten, Philip's uncle.
At least it was originally. I believe it's pronounced in the
French way...LOOeee. Was that name even on the betting lists?

You know, I've always wondered what the Queen and Duke of Ed.
think about the use of "Louis" as a name. From what I've read,
Mountbatten was a real brown-noser, always cozying up to the
senior royals and trying to push himself and his family higher
up the royal ladder. He attached himself to Edward VIII when
they were young and stuck to him like glue...until the
abdication. Then he dropped him like a hot potato. The Queen
Mum supposedly disliked him intensely. The Duke of Ed.,
Mountbatten's nephew, resented the fact that Mountbatten took
credit for raising him and disliked that he marginalized his own
father. Mountbatten was a huge influence on Charles, who didn't
get along with Philip and always considered Mountbatten to be
his "honorary grandfather." So he gave his son, William, the
name "Louis." William now has given it to both his sons but
hasn't used "Philip" for either of them. Meanwhile, the Queen
and the Duke of Ed. must still think of Mountbatten as a pushy,
social climber who tried to influence the royals to bring
attention to his family. When George VI died, Mountbatten was
the one who publicly said that the name of the Royal House had
changed from "Windsor" to "Mountbatten." The Queen then had to
issue a proclaimation saying the name of the Royal House would
remain "Windsor" and some of her children would carry the name
"Mountbatten-Windsor." Anyway, this is a long post to wonder
what the Queen and her husband think of "Louis" cropping up in
Charles' descendents.

Louis is also Williams first cousins name , eldest son of
Charles earl Spencer. So both names could be seen as a nod as
well to Diana’s family. Charlotte is also Charles daughters
names , Charlotte Diana is her name in fact. So it’s a name
both sides will be happy with . George is also a first cousins
name, lady Sarah’s son who looked very like to Harry as a
child.

And I've just remembered that one of Edward Wessex's names is
Louis...so maybe I'm wondering wrongly. Always looking for
drama!

I think William and Kate have been clever with names balancing
out both sides. Charles is like a ATM for the Cambridge’s and
Harry . I’d say if he didn’t dish out the expense money the lads
could count how many times a year they’d speak to him

Isn't Harry supposed to come into a large inheritance from his
mother sometime soon? He'll certainly be financially
independent when that happens...as long as Meghan doesn't spend
it all too quickly.

Both have independent means , but it’s charles pays majority of
living expenses for them , all Kate’s clothes ect are paid by
Charles , same will go for Megan .
