Bessie! Another old friend joins us! I'm happy to see you.
I recently read an internet story about Letizia having an affair
with her brother-in-law. Who knows if it's true or not, but
it's another unexpected royal report to go along with Fred and
Mares' marital problems. I guess I really should have posted
this under the Spanish royals topic. Sorry!

I hope not, and I have my doubts just as you do. The story
quickly dropped out of sight after the first flurry of internet
reports.

Sadly, the story still had life until the end of last year. The
story sounds in-credible (as in very, very difficult to
believe). Some very disgruntled people have the knives out for
Leti. Not a fan of what she has become but I'll credit her with
infinitely more sense and scruples than the story would have us
believe.

The deed is done. All hail King Frederik X. Responsibility may
yet be the making of him... I hold out no great hope of this but
the faith of hopeful Danes who arrived in their thousands to
greet him and savour a moment in Danish history, may have moved
him enough to quit the worst of his recreational activities. He
did shed a few tears .... but he also cried on his wedding day.
Almost twenty years later one might be forgiven for wondering if
those were tears of self pity.
Freddles was so overcome with emotion, less than three months
after his adventures with Madame Casa, he leaned in twice to
kiss Mary on the balcony. She thwarted the first attempt but he
was quite persistent. I truly hope she hosed him down properly
with disinfectant and served him a big enough dose of hydrogen
peroxide to kill lurking bacteria from foreign sources.

Christian showed more awareness during the abdication ceremony
and more regard for his granny (he hurried off to get her cane
when she stood up and kept an eye on her as she left) than silly
ole dad.
I'll stop raining on King Federik X's parade ... for now.

Have there been any pictures of Joachim and family in
Copenhagen? Did they attend Fred's swearing in? I can't
imagine they weren't there.

Joachim was there. He could apparently be seen being driven away
after the abdication on one of the live feeds. Diplomatic car
with #10 on plates.

joachim was there. the rest of his family wasn't.
on mary's side, jane was confirmed as attending.
so just one from each side.

King Fred's motto is "United, committed, for the Kingdom of
Denmark"
There's a video out there where you can see him emotional before
stepping on the balcony.

The reign is in the honeymoon period, we’ll see how it goes.
Monarchy will keep a much tighter leash of Fred as we know where
he’ll be at all times
