Inaki is off to the Big House

Reading on TRF today all but one of his convictions upheld. His
sentence is 5+ years. There are possible further appeals but
those are not promising.
So he and the others must turn themselves in tomorrow.
Cristina’s birthday. As I recall she was stripped of her ducal
title on her birthday as well.

Gosh this case has taken forever to conclude. If he deserves to
go to prison, good. Poor innocent children caught in the mess.

I have very mixed feelings about all of this.
I feel foremost sorry for the kids.
As for him/them being stripped of the duke of palma title, on
cristina's birthday, i found that very petty. if you give
something to somebody, give it for good or make it clear from
the beginning that it's on loan and will depend on good
behavior.

So long, in fact, that I'd forgotten about it. Is the family
still living in Switzerland? Has Inaki been with them while
waiting for the conclusion of the case? The personal lives of
JC's two daughters have turned out to be sad, particularly for
the children.

It is very sad for the children.
They are about 13 to 19 now so he'll be out when they are all
over 18.
Hopefully Inaki won't miss out on weddings and grandchildren.

The children will have to live with the shame of this their
entire lives - no fault of their own. That IS very sad. Not to
mention they have to be without their father and experience him
in jail and probably a depressed mother.
Horrible.

Hopefully he won't go too nutty on his own and his family will
cope okay. It will be hard.
It is a chance for Inaki to re-educate himself for a different
future in a new career stream.
