Christmas celebration

Thank you Abs for the Christmas theme. It contributes to
bringing us into the Christmas spirit.
This weekend I lit the first candle on my Advent wreath and I am
slowly bringing out the Christmas decoration. Will probably put
up the tree in two weeks time.

Yesterday the Christmas snuck in on me, as I met friends at the
Tivoli Christmas Market in Copenhagen. The sights, the smells -
it all helps. It was beautiful. Bought my first X-mas presents
there. ;D

Love the idea of Christmas snucking on someone!
I haven't started my Christmas shopping yet... but I bet Tiger
is all done with it already!

Well it’s farmers day out today for the cities of Ireland . The
culchies are on the move ;D. It’s also the official day for
upping the decorations. I was in Cork today but that was
coincidence, I swear . It’s called farmers day out as it was the
day the turkeys would be sold , which the was the woman’s job
and that money and the egg money was put to good use for the
Christmas shop and the Santa toys . It really was the the start
of Xmas . I’m not that ancient but I recall the 8th as when the
thought of Xmas started , not in September like now. I’ve nearly
the presents got , nearly but my well mentioned cousin and
brother in law are finally making it legal on the 20th of dec so
it has thrown me out . 😂. So that means on our side of
the family my kids , me , my sister , niece , cousin and niece
all have the same surname !

Hey Tigerben, I am a dual citizen Irish/American, from Frosses
Donegal and NY. What part of Ireland are you in?

Co.Cork , east cork a little harbour village on the mouth of the
worlds second biggest natural harbour and over looking the
beautiful ballyannon woods. A mile away is the lovely Midleton
home of the famous Jameson whiskey ! So if you have a Jameson
over the Xmas thing of me living within sight and smell of where
it’s made! Midleton is now part of the wild Atlantic way which
if you google is amazing. My American sister in law to be
brought so much whiskey back when she was over for Xmas last
year , I’m sure everyone in California got one 😁.
Frosses always has had a high level of migrant , Donegal overall
has. It is so beautiful there, I rate Donegal higher in beauty
than Kerry.

Well, I have many cousins still in Frosses. My father's aunt and
uncle had 19 living children. She married at 15 and had a baby
every year until he died. Amazingly she outlived him by decades!
Lovely people. I bought my husband over a few years back,
without notice to the family. I walked into the family owned
hotel pub and said to the bartender, are you a Kelly? Can you
tell your dad that Clyde's daughter is here? And it was like we
had never left.

That’s because your a “ local”.you could be away in America ,
England or France for 50 years and return and be considered
local as you’d have kin buried in the graveyard and old school
friends . Move from any county to another county and it doesn’t
matter if your 50 years living in a area you will never be
consider local till you 50 years dead in the graveyard 😂
