Exploring Your Vocation with
+Sons of the Eternal Mercies
As an Order of the Church, SOtEM Sacred Society preserves,
presents and promotes education, historical preservation and
wellness, through principals and practices of monastic life for
faithful and religious pursuing education, helping others and
finding a spiritual home and fulfillment of thier vocation as
therapeutae. The Society recognizes hermits, coenobites,
itenerates and also teritaries who are married, have secular
lives or have a foot in both worlds. The congregation are
regarded as tertiaries
Membership in the SOtEM Order of Therapeutae is by invitation or
discovery and application to men who are of good character that
wish to learn and train to respond to all life, through the
sacred philosophies, methods, medicines, and therapeutics G-d
has given us to ease suffering and give comfort in sickness.
Traditional Medicine and Authentic Medicine
The Hippocratic Society of Physicians is over 3,000 years old.
The Hippocratic Oath is known the world over and SOtEM
recognizes the original version, accepting that secular
physicians now take the Oath of Geneva.
Therapeutae file thier oath with the Church on preparation for
autonomy in care ie after selection and before practice.
Sponsors are required to ensure Vocations have received oath
instruction in thier student orientation.
Scope of Practice
All Members are only approved to thier scope of practice. All
Members are advised to be aware of all local laws and conditions
in architecting thier work or ministry.
From the Ground Up: Direct Patient Care
Rose Chapel College bases training on an immersion model and
students participate in direct care and ministry at all levels
during thier studies.
Items, Procedures and Practices the Church Can Not Endorse or
Defend
Students are advised that treatments, procedures and practices
novel or in controversy must be cleared and problems arising
from controversial practices may be cause for separation from
the college.
