Conceptually, I have a problem with player admins having more
info than other players.

Well, you have to have player-admins, or else you're saying that
anyone who's willing to admin the board isn't allowed to play.
:P
Edit: Although it would be a separate account for playing, so
the majority of the time everyone playing would be on the same
footing. If you're worried about information, then honestly I
am the only safe person to be an admin - even if I can see
you're online but not posting, I'm not going to give a crap or
mention it at all, because I "lurk" all the time during ROMS
games. People logging in but not posting is a matter of supreme
indifference to me.
Secret boards that player-admins can see... well, I guess the
solution is just not to have secret boards, heh.

I was working on setting it so that once a game started, the
forum admins wouldn't have more info than anyone else. That's
the tricky wicket. I think there are some workarounds, provided
one of your admins doesn't play.
But, I seem to be the only one who likes the idea of everything
being in the same place, anyway.

Really, I prefer to use google docs when I'm a rogue, so the
idea of having centralised "rogue forums" that I basically have
to use doesn't really appeal to me anyway, quite apart from any
difficulties in having all of these things in one place.

Also, having secret things in the same place as the actual game
is being run... I tend to believe in Murphy's Law, and think
that if there's any possibility that something could go wrong,
it probably will. Having rogue forums on the same board as the
active game seems to be asking for something to go wrong.
Now, a combined rogue forum and dead thread forum might be a
better idea, administratively speaking.
Yeah, I made this a separate post to hit 50. :P

You certainly could have accidental cross-posting, ala chat
booch, and the hilarity that would ensue!
There's a 10-second freebie edit period currently. I'm not sure
how anyone could post and edit in that much time, but it can be
reduced to 1 second.
Similarly, there are options to turn off edit and delete
permissions, if that's desirable. Personally,I don't care if
people want to try. Although maybe it's unfair to new players to
trap them like that.

If those permissions are on a forum by forum basis, it could be
disabled within the active game forum, and enabled everywhere
else. If we want to go the route of disallowing editing and
deleting entirely, that is.

It's not really a big deal. Everyone can still see last time
someone logged in, I think.

I wasn't entirely sure what information a player admin would
have that a non-admin player would have. Or what information
they'd have that would matter, in the long run. Oh, and I was
joking about being the only "safe" person; obviously someone who
doesn't play is safer. :P
Edit: I suppose I have the crucial information of when
everyone's birthday is - even if they've hidden the information.
Muahahaha.

But I can't, for example, see who is hanging around at deadlines
not saying anything. This isn't an argument against player
admins so much as it is an argument against hiding information
like that.
