Also, Luv, I just gave you admin access if you want to poke
around behind the scenes and see what's what.

I still have quick reply. Might be a user setting? Actually,
pretty sure it is.
Thanks for the admin. Glad to poke around without it. Odd
thing is being able to see the admin button even if you weren't
an admin. These are similar to my flag forums, and i seem to
recall some issue with that there. Or maybe it was just our
skin on the admin button.

That's weird. The quote button doesn't seem to work for me at
all?

Oh, yeah, I mean that I disabled Quick Reply in my user options,
not in the forum options for everyone. There's a lot of
individual customisation available on these boards, which is
great - especially allowing people to use the posts per page
setting that they want. (The forum default is 50ppp because
that's what I like, and I know a lot of other people use that
for ROMS too - but it's easy enough to change it to whatever you
like.)

What happens when you click on it if you're not an admin? Does
it have any functionality at all?

I dunno, check your Quick Reply settings; I thought my quote
wasn't working until I realised it was showing up in the Quick
Reply box, which I had set to be hidden by default. So the
quote was working, it just wasn't visible to me so I didn't see
anything happening when I clicked it.
(I don't know why hitting Quote makes it go into your Quick
Reply window unless you have that disabled, but that seems to be
how it works. Maybe there's something behind the scenes that
will sort that out, but seriously there are a lot of options
back there.)

Apparently it does go to quick reply. Which is hidden by
default. This is dumb.

OK, it works fine if turn off quick reply in the settings. I
view an initially non-functional quote option as a problem.

Yeah, I'll see if I can make the default setting for that
something different. Turning off quick reply would solve the
problem, or making quick reply by default not-hidden. I think
it might be under "Themes" or something, so I'll just go check
that out. If it's just a matter of changing a couple of options
it shouldn't be a big problem in the long run. :P

Okay, the forum default (only new members will be affected by
this) is for Quick Reply to be disabled. That means that the
Quote function is no longer by default broken.
Edit: Oh, and the new forum default is to return to the topic on
posting a reply. This was all under "Themes", for admin
reference.

Yes, quote works as expected now.
