Yep, admin access successful. This one might be my first
choice, with ProBoards as my second.
Probably ought to put up a poll at the DT when we've got a
couplethree to choose from.

The stylesheets use regular hex code (#454545), and triple hex

(#000), and
you can also use some basic text colors in some places.
Is there some other format you're running into?

I think it was just the sheer volume of text that was confusing
me. And me being tired. :P Then I was like "Wait why do these
colour codes only have three numbers when they should have
six?". I guess I was actually being kind of stupid. >.>

I still need to get round to trying to make new skins. It will
be a little more difficult for me to figure out which line
corresponds to which feature on the forum, even if I just want
to change the colour of the present default. (The ProBoards
"new skin" is very easy and intuitive, even if the hex code
colours weren't showing up quite the same on the forum as I
thought they should from the chart I was using.)
There are a number of premade skins (or "styles" as they call
them here) but I can't for the life of me figure out how to make
it so that each user can set themselves a different one of those
via their profile or something. Because if we could do that, I
think that would be a decent compromise, even if it meant not
having a skin called Banana Hammock. (And I know Leif was very
fond of his lavender one.)
Something else I'm wondering is whether it's possible to enable
some sort of character counter so you can tell if you're getting
close to 60,000 characters. Although on balance just removing
the character limit might be the best thing. (Not that we
should be making posts of more than 60,000 characters anyway
because damn.)

I don't think there's any reason to disable the character limit.
That uber-long Lyaka wall of text was under 30000 characters.
That's longer than most college papers.
Also, skins are less important to me. I'm fine with using
whatever the forum default is. (i.e. one style that may or may
not be customized, rather than user-customized). If you get
into add-ons and whatnot, you may find that certain skins start
to conflict with the new upgrades...it becomes a lot of work to
maintain multiple skins.
But that sounds like something others like, so whatever.

I'd like to get enough posts here to play with the page and
thread navigation settings. So, la la la and what have you.
I'm going to repeat the tests I did on proboard. These are
mobiley made posts.

I did disable the character limit because I didn't see why there
needed to be one.
The default on these boards is 20,000 but you can change it to
anything or disable it entirely.

Character limits: to maintain some sort of reasonableness.
There's no reason someone should be makinga single 30000
character post and I do think that should be discouraged. OTOH,
I dont think that people naturally will hit that.
