the floor with paving slabs and it was between the paving slabs
I seen it. I can't take the food out because I have eggs and
squabs so I leave food in at all times, anything use suggest I
should do? thanks matty.

Get a good friendly cat, I have cats that were raised with the
birds and hunt for mice under the lofts, leaves the birds alone.

Good advice Lew. I have cats that frequent my loft and my
workshop have rarely seen mice in the loft. They do not bother
the birds at all.
Keep em spinning

I too have a cat live with my birds, does not bother them but I
raised her from a kitten along with the birds. There have been
mornings when I checked on my birds and she is in the separation
pen with the hens holed up in a corner, almost relieved that I
showed up! :D
I mostly keep her in the breeder loft where she will sleep on
top of the crown pens with her tail hanging into them and where
the pigeons can peck at it. This cat could cause some major
damage if she wanted to but so far so good (knock on wood
someone...).
Anyway, since she has been a regular resident, mice are nowhere
to be seen around the loft. She earns her keep without a doubt.
;)
