Visit to a fellow Flyer...

This past weekend my wife and I took a road trip to visit Thom
Hale (oldfart) and his wife Chris in Portsmouth,Ohio ,about 170
miles south of where I live. Thom has Ruby's and so do I. We
both got our birds directly from Tony C. owner and founder of
this site. I can't tell you what an exciting experience it was
to get to talk and exchange ideas with a fellow pigeon flyer.
We exchanged a lot of ideas. I took away some "new" ideas and
methods for bettering my Breeding and Mnagement program. Thom
flew 2 kits of birds. Although, the weather was terribly HOT and
HUMID early in the morning Thom was very disappointed in their
performance but, I wasn't..... I love seeing the birds fly,
just the same... As I told Thom, I completely understand how
the birds can react to the weather. I was really impressed with
Thom's set up. I have visited a few others but, Thom and Amir
(who flys Oriental Rollers) and lives in Michigan have really
built great friendly relationship with. I would highly
encourage everyone to go visit other fanciers in this hobby as
much as possible. One, to get to know more about "rollers" in
general and secondly, to get to personally know and built
personal relationships with fellow fanciers. What a "great"
experience this was for me. I hope others will get to know the
same type of gratification that I have been able to have.

Paul and his lovely bride were most welcome guests. We had a
great time and I would be more them happy to have them return,
anytime! The birds had a bad day, too much heat and humidity
plus bad management stopped them from showing their
capibilities.
Take care my friends
Thom
