Ruby Rollers in Competition?

Ok first off if I never flew a competition it wouldn't break my
heart at all. I have in a short period of time come to love
watching this birds just fly and roll. My wife and kids even
have gotten into the habit of watching them fly and all. That
being said I would like to compete in some competitions and have
thought about purchasing a pair or two of ruby's in future. They
would be kept totally seperate of my current stock and compete
with the ruby's and other birds I have. So I was wondering if
anyone out there has and ruby's in there kits that they compete
with and how do they fair? I have searched this board and the
internet and have seen nothing but positive things about Ruby's
and thats main reason I thought about bringing them in if its
nothing more then for enjoyment of watching them fly.

I think Tony may be able to answer this nicely but I'll tell you
what I know. There's a fella out in California named Paul
Fullerton that competes with Ruby Rollers. I believe it's a mix
of Ruby Rollers and another family and he has done quite well
for himself winning his region and making it to the Finals.
So yes, there is/are guys using Ruby Rollers in their loft and
winning comps.

around the pigeon web.

Just doing some homework before purchasing birds espically ones
I can't see in the air. But Tony seems to be a good seller and
not like some others. Just taking time and doing the rounds make
sure I make right decisions and all. Thanks for your reply
though I appreciate it.

Hi Tou, thanks for the positive comments and being fair minded
in your response to Paul Brown. I receive many very positive
comments from those who have the Ruby Roller strain and spend
the proper time flying, managing and feeding them right. My
re-order rate from previous clients is at 63% last time I
looked. If this were baseball, I would be batting 630 or
something! :D My view is that this is an excellent percentage
and could be considered a "winning" statistic in anybodies book!
Here is just a little bit I took off my website customer comment
section that I wanted to share as far as competition is
concerned. Paul has continued to do well in his region but I
have not updated the stats for him, maybe now I will catch up
with him and do it:

Paul Fullerton:
NBRC Region 9B 2008 National Fly Regional Winner with 280.54
points. (1st Place)
NBRC Region 9B 2008 National Fly Regional Winner with 177.45
points. (2nd Place)
NBRC Region 9B 2009 National Fly Regional Winner with 255.45
points. (1st Place)
Paul has been working with Ruby Rollers and Ruby/Mort Emani
crosses. Paul has won many local flys with the Ruby strain
either as primary birds or crosses with the Mort Emani line.
(His Flashover Strain) When it comes to rollers, Paul certainly
knows his stuff.

Brian Sappok:NBRC Region 9G 2009 National Fly took 2nd place
with 263.64 points. He missed out winning his region and
qualifying for the finals by 67 points.Here are messages I
received from Brian:
October 3, 2009Hi Tony, did good in the fall fly today. I was
flying pure Rubys and Ruby crossed with Richard Apadoca's birds.
Scored 263.64.All birds I raised out of the birds I got from
you.
October 4, 2009“I'm very pleased with the birds. This was my
first comp fly. I was 1st place but someone scored 330 today so
I sit in 2nd place in region 9G.They have 2 more kits to fly…
These were my breaks 6,6,8,7,8,5,5,5,6,6,5,5,8,8,10,5 quality
1.3 and depth 1.3 for a score of 263.64…Thanks again Tony, Brian

The idea is that the Ruby Roller strain has the goods to win,
Paul has put up some very good kits and feels he has just missed
taking it all if not for (enter standard excuse here - LOL)

heard how Paul Fullerton is doing. I've always enjoyed reading

Tony like I have said I have nothing but positive things about
your birds. I have ran across few people who said they just
didn't work with there birds and that is only thing negative I
have heard. But seeing how I am just starting out this shouldn't
be problem for me. Only thing keeping from buying birds now is I
saving up money so I can just go ahead and get 2 pairs to save
on shipping and all. Wife not happy about me purchasing birds
but she is love watching them roll. So within next few months I
will be getting in touch with ya and see about getting pair or
two.

Last time I had a message from Paul (2 months or so) he was
improving and felt much better. Still recouping and battling
with workman comp. He was still flying kits and doing all that,
just hasnt been too active on internet forums.
