Important Roller Pigeon Scam Warning!!

Hey All you guys, I just have to put this out there, be careful
of a guy who goes out and says he wants to get birds for his son
and friend who were allegedly severely hurt in a grain elevator
accident.
He just called me and said it happened 4 months ago, funny thing
is, a guy called my last year and told me the same exact story!
He was really trying to tug my heart strings by keep mentioning
his hurt son. My sense was he was trying to play on my sympathy
and get free birds "for his son".
You've been warned! ;D

Hey Tony.
We have the same scams over here!!!! Wonder if
they're from some country within Africa!!!LOL. More likely some
feather merchant, who's trying to scam people out of their birds
for his on monatary gain. There's a bird selling site over here
and at least once a week, there's some hard luck story, hoping
good natured people will help them out. Makes it really hard for
the genuine people. The other scam, is to put up pictures of
birds and ask for money including carrier fee, to be sent, and
the birds will be sent on once funds are recieved!!! Guess what
happens next people. No birds. You must feel sorry for them I
guess. Yours in sport

I ALSO HEARD A SCAM THIS WEEKEND WHILE AT MY FRIENDS HOUSE.
A MAN CALLED AND WANTED SOME HELMETS (MY FRIENDS SHOW BREED OF
BIRDS.) THE PHONE CONVERSATION WAS ON SPEAKER PHONE AND MY
FRIEND WANTED TO HAVE THE GUY SEND HIM A POSTAL MONEY ORDER FOR
THE PAYMENT.
IN THE BACKGROUND THE MANS WIFE WHO WAS BUYING THE BIRDS SAID IN
A SEMI QUIET VOICE TO HER HUSBAND...ASK IF WE CAN SEND A
PERSONAL CHECK THEN THAT WAY WE CAN STOP PAYMENT ON THE CHECK
THE DAY HE SHIPS US THE BIRDS..
SO NOW MY FRIEND IS GOING TO CASH THE CHECK FROM THEM AND HOLD
THE BIRDS UNTIL THE CHECK CLEARS AT THE BANK, THAT WAY HE IS NOT
OUT ANY MONEY.
IF IT WAS ME I WOULD NOT EVEN BOTHER DEALING WITH THESE PEOPLE
IN ANY MANNER.
NOW TALK ABOUT LOW DOWN AND DIRTY.
IT SURE IS SAD THAT PEOPLE ARE THIEFS AND CROOKS.

I too agree it it sad that some people think they can get things
for nothing by giving a sad sack story.
If they were just up front and honest, I have some birds I would
give them in order to get them started, but not for a scam. ::)

How they can "screw" the other half out of what they have.....

Hi Tony. Interesting enough I just recently recieved a email
through the NBRC site about a man who's son was similarly
injured and is asking for birds for his son. He doesn't have
any money but his son loves color birds, etc. If you don't mind
I will send you a personal email with this guys info to see if
it looks familiar. Man it sure sucks when some people try these
scams as unfortunately we end up judging the masses based on a

Hello everyone I am a new user here and my husband and I have
been having a very rough few days, Just a quick note to
everyone out there this scam has gotten worse.....This person
has now started to email us saying threats on us because we
wouldn't give him birds or reduce them down to practically
nothing. He is the same person that has started his son and his
sons friend was hurt in an accident on the job. We had to
change our phone and the way people email us on our site.
Please everyone take notice of this person he has now gotten to
the point of being dangerous..... This is a terrible thing in
after about 40 years of breeding someone like this coming into
your life.....There are so many different breeds of pigeons and
when it comes down to it the main purpose of any breeder to
enjoy his or her birds not that anyone else's birds are better
or worse than your own just different types for different
people...and then some fool has to come and try and ruin it...so
everyone be careful and keep your ears and eyes open he is still
around......

Hi bnnys4ever, welcome to the site and sorry it is under these
circumstances we find your first post. Have you considered
contacting law enforcement? I am thinking you may have a phone
number, address and email address. Contact the his State
Attorney General and register a complaint.
If sites like this and others can put out the alert that
individuals are trying to scam legitimate breeders, then perhaps
fewer will get ripped off. Best of luck in the future!
