       Tiny babies

I have had several pairs recently hatch out babies that are way
smaller than they are supposed to be. They always hatch only one
baby and it dies usually 1-2 days after hatching. I would really
like to know why this is happening. Thanks, Joe

Several possibilities, but if I was having the same problem I
believe I would pull all eggs, worm the breeders, and hit em
with an antibiotic for the prescribed period and then with a
probiotic before I would let them continue to let them lay any
eggs. sounds like you got a bug in your loft...

Treat for Paratyphoid with amoxicillin. It's safe for
       youngsters.

TRY THIS JOE I would first use worm medication for 2 days in
water-- wait 3 to 5 days then Moxicillin for 21 days in water--
then wait 3 to 5 days and worn again-- worning needs to be about
30 days apart that way you get eggs that hatch-- then PROBOIC a
must for 3 to 5 days-- GOD Bless!!!

I don't think its a bug because only two pairs hatched tiny
babies. The rest of my pairs have normal, healthy youngsters.

Paratyphoid is your problem. Brake up your pairs and treat all
your birds, Kit birds breeders every bird and clean clean clean.

I have to agree with Joe on this.

Identifying exactly what it is from what you describe is
sometimes difficult to do...but I do know that you should
probably be as vigilant as possible and get to treating your
birds as described, while you still have the opportunity.
Best of luck to you. You may also do well by calling Foy's
pigeon supply, describe what you are seeing in your birds, and
see if they can provide you with a treatment regimen. All it
takes to make these birds sick is a little poop in their water
and they can get real sick, real quick.

Best of luck to ya Sir.
