       Johnnie,
Austin Benjamin up in western Idaho has had this family for
years. Unfortunately, I do not have his email address but I know
he is up on Rollerworld frequently. Also, Hatcher is now in
Oklahoma and has an add in this months NBRC bulletin on page 99
which lists his phone number and email address. He sure writes
some pretty pedigrees, after reading them you expect lightning
to shoot from their vents when they roll. ::) Tell Bill I said
       Hi.
       Keep em spinning
       Joe B

Can someone please tell me what are Continetals? Are they
refered as Continetals because they were imported from English
or European origin at one point?

Thomas Hatcher created the Continentals. No reference to
foreign imports. I'f I'm remembering correct they are a
derivative of the old Smith/Palona birds.

Thanks markmidmo! Funny I would have thought they were called
Continentals becuse their origin was from the European Continent
;D So they are really North American Continent bred, created by
       an American :P

       Johnnie,
Friar Tuck is a continental. Think I still have a hen too. If
you have any of my birds with a Gary Stephens bands they are
       Hatchers.
Call me later. I have an escapee that belongs to you.

I have not been here for a while..but thought to add a note: I
have 4 pair of Continentals via Ed Taylor from over the past few
years. All with ped's. I have a couple, one from Ed, and one I
raised from his stock, that do have "lighting coming out of
their butt". Are all good..no...but neither do all Pensoms,
Smiths, Southern CA. birds, Sparks, Douchet's etc. I happen to
have some of all of these and there are poor birds in all lines.
The Continentals I have are good enough to keep around for a
while. Remember that ped's are only as good as the person
writing them..if you believe all that is written, over and above
the band numbers..you had better know the writer. Ped's are
extremely good for breeding purposes as to keeping the family
       straight. Bruce

Bruce, Some of the peds I had were laughable!
Grizzles being produced from two non-grizzle birds, ash red
birds produced from two blues, ash red hens with black flecking
producing blue check sons, etc..... ???
However, even with lots of ped errors, A few of them could spin
       pretty good.
