Orange eye/odd eye

Hi Guys, I have in my kit of Rubys a red check young hen with
one orange eye and one odd eye/bull eye? This little hen is
probaly one of the best kitting and rolling performers in the
kit! I have no problem with the eye color, just curious if this
is possibly due to this bird having ancestors that were of bald
headed markings? I have seen this and do have odd eyed birds out
of my Bob Brown based birds with the bald headed pattern, but
have never seen this in self colored birds. Does anyone have
any useful info on this?

Hi Raul, I dont know about the eyes, and i dont know what self
color means in a pigeon. I'd also like to know if someone would

Interesting question. I surfed the net trying to find an answer
and ultimately ended up reading Hollander (way over my head) and
went back to Mumtaztic Pigeon Loft for an easy to read
explanation. There seems to be some validity in thinking there
is a between piebald birds and odd eye. The only odd eye bird I
have happens to be a Mee baldie, though that small sample proves
nothing.
Chesley - self = solid color and odd-eye = two different color
eyes.

Hi Mark, Thanks. I believe it may have something to do with the
bald head pattern. I had a self black hen and red bar cock
produce a bald head lavender. Ill have to check my records as I
think this hen with the odd eyes comes from the same pair.

a
lot of my old family Mee birds have alot of odd eye birds in the
group I wondered what was behind this they do as well as any
othere bird in the family but every one does have the bald
headed pattern

Hey Raul, I get some odd eyes in my Bald Heads but it does not
effect how they spin! :) Here is a bull eyed B/H hen that can
only be called "Sexie"
The odd eye may go away if the odd eyed bird is bred to a solid
color bird.

Hey Scott, thank you young man. I sent this little hen to a
board member several years ago. He has since passed but I think
his wife still keeps some of his birds. So as far as I know the
baldie is making little bald heads still. She spun as good as
she looked by the way. :)

I am sure she did or she would have never made it out of your
loft. I have never seen a bald headed ruby as you know I have
just started with this family or should I say my wife has she
took them over now and she loves them she only has the
standered colors for now but colors dont mean anything the roll
is where it needs to be
