Thom, He or she will lose interest with every loss to a bop
with out his or her knowing what he or she might have had in
that lost bird, Specially if they are being hit daily or every
other day. Not much of a kit to look at and then if they keep
breeding this could have them keep or sell extra birds to keep
feed bill down and then that could cause what you are referring
to. But the BOP over population and invasion of neighborhoods is
far more of a problem to this sport. :o Joe[quote

Joe, It will not effect my loft either but I would like to see
the hobby grow. If a newbie starts with inferior birds he will
lose interest and leave without ever knowing how great our birds
       really are.
Paul, I like the way you think! :)
       Take care my friends

Joe, I live in one of the worst corridors of B.O.P. migration so
I understand exactly what you are saying. I have learned to
minimise my losses but still lose more then I like. I think both
are threats to our hobby. The B.O.P.s are only slightly within
my control but the quility of birds I might give or sell is 100%
up to me. I personally will never give or sell any bird I would
       not keep for myself.
       Take care my friend

Joe..... I guess you could say that the BOP... is a natural way
of culling, so to speak. Tony was addressing the Human way of
culling.... Most people understand that "culling" is a much
needed way to preserve only the "BEST" in any species of animal.
I think the problem lies in the "way" culling is done. Would
YOU agree?? Once again, I must say that when some people hear
the word "cull", they automatically think of the worst way to do
it.... But, regardless of "how" it is done, it is a MUST...

       Hi Chaps,
I agree with this article. I also don't believe in selling or
giving away inferior birds if this sport (hobby) is to get
       better.
I keep pure Ken White stock which was sold to me by Mr. Gerad
Viljoen in South Africa. He bought his Ken White stock from Ken
White in 1967 and has kept them pure since then.
Anyway I enjoyed the article and all the comments

       Regards

       Mathieu
