       Individual compartment size
By: rolldown Date: October 29, 2011, 1:25 pm

I'm looking into building some breeding compartments and I have
a couple questions. What are the measurements of yours and what
do you like about them? What do you use for feed/water
containers? I'm going to use small wood boxes instead of
nestbowls. Pictures of yours would be great also. Thanks alot,
       Joseph

       Joe, these compartments are 12H x 20L x 12D. I used 1 x 12 pine
to make what looked like shelves. Made some fronts, used 1/4
inch ply for the back and viola. Worked great this past breeding
       season.

       hay joseph,
i breed open loft this is the 1st i ever done it and it worked
for me my 6 breeding boxes 2 feet x2feet x 2feet and they got a
lot of room to mate in and i keep the feed tray in about the
       middle of 7 feet x 7 feet x 6feet high and i keep the 2 milk
jugs by the door so i can open door and dump the water out from
the breeding loft and i want to wish you all the best when ever

If you are Talking about keeping them in there for the hole
breeding season try and make them as big as you can I am
building 9 units now that are 24 tall 27 wide and 30 long I hope
this helps 24by24by24 is what most people told me but I just
tried to go as big as I could to give the birds some room what
family of rollers are you working with always love to hear how
well every one is doing with diffrent familys

Sound Rollers, I love the look of those! How much did it cost to
       build them?

Scott70, I won't be keeping them in the nestboxes the whole
breeding season. I'll wait until the eggs are laid and then open
their doors. I breed mainly Westfall birds.

Thanks Scott, I think I paid no more than $50.00 for the
       material. [quote author=rolldown link=topic=764.msg9773#msg9773

Johnnie... I got the white breeding pens from Foy's Supplys and
extra trays from them also. I use those plastic green trays in
all of my breeding pens. They come in a variety of sizes with a
       very very reasonable price.

       been.
These are 2 different types of individual breeding pens I use:
       The first one measures 24x16x16
The second ones I purchased from Foy's Supplys
