Had to, had to share with my new friends.

My gosh! On the way back from checkin' cows this evenin', my
husband says he might let me have the top loft of the new barn
for my birds! This is beyond my wildest dreams! He figures it
will never be used, as we round bale our hay, and we have
another barn for when we do square bale. It is not only huge,
and airy with the two mow doors to look out of, but it is
actually beautiful in its construction. I ought to know, as my
husband built it himself. Imagine an entire space the size of
the barn! I have never been so happy in all my days, well okay,
I may be stretchin' it a bit now lol. The word MIGHT niggles at
me a bit, but I figure if I just go on about it like I already
have it, he'll have a hard time changin' his mind. (Yup, that is
exactly how we women folk work.) ;D

Hay buttertup you might want to build your loft inside the upper
barn, and not let them free fly the entire area the birds will
make a quick mess of all your husbands hard work, so I suggest
you have him section it off for the loft. Dennis

You are right, and so the deal is, I can have a section of the
loft, but if I need more as I go, then he will give me more. He
says we have to floor it proper so the pigeon crap does not drop
down to the hay.
I am very lucky we don't do dairy, as fowl are not allowed in
the barn at all. Still the space allotted me is generous, and I
will not look a gift horse in the mouth. I think I can raise
some nice birds here, provided I start with good birds, or all
this will be for not.
Usually everything on this farm has a good reason to be here.
The birds are just now out of the "Well, can we eat them."
discussion, but luckily my kin has taken to watchin' them fly,
and so the birds have now moved into the harmless amusement
catagory. ;D

Well, I ended up with 15Lx15wX10h space, and my husband made me
a real door! No more havin' to crawl under the chicken wire like
a possum!
My birds will be in thier new loft by Saturday, this is the best
bd present ever.
MY nest boxes aren't done yet, but they will come. I even have
lounge chairs up in the loft so we can sit and chillax, while
watching the birds doing well, bird stuff lol.
I have listened to, and have taken lots of advice offered up in
here. I open my mow door and me and my birds have the view of
the Great Smokies herself! Most of my friends look at me with
deadpan stares when I try to explain it all to them, but they
just don't get it, but I know y'all do. I look forward to the
day when one of y'all sees fit to visit. I have lots of sweet
tea always ready.

"I told you before, pigeon people are very giving, so I am no
catalyst, I am just paying it forward as others have done for
me!"
If your loft is on the upper floor of the barn, do you have
outside access to the front or opening where the birds will
enter and exit? Maybe your hubby can build a balcony onto the
barn for you for outside viewing... ; ) Don't tell him it was my
idea!
