       Passing of Bruce Cooper
By: Cliff Ball Date: September 29, 2011, 8:11 am
       ---------------------------------------------------------
I understand that we have lost one of the legends in the sport,
Bruce Cooper, who passed away September 22nd at the age of 92. I
am please to have had the opportunity to meet him at the NBRC
Convention a few years ago when he sat on a panel discussion.
       Rest in peace.
       Cliff

I never had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Cooper, I wish I could
have. My condolences to his family.
       Rest in peace, Mr. Cooper

I've heard alot about Bruce Cooper, his friendships with Bill
Pensom and Monty Niebel. The Washington area is so active in
rollers largely due to Bruce Cooper's involvement. The roller
hobby will sorely miss this man and I wish I could've had the
chance to talk with him before he passed. One of the many
legends that passed before I could talk/met them.
Remember "wingpatch", you have the right to nominate anyone you
wish. If you feel he is deserving of being in the NBRC HOF,
nominate him and write a short paragraph or a page or two.
I think it's a good idea for all of us to be active in something
we care about. If there is someone deserving of the HOF award,
nominate them. If you'd like to see different people holding the
office of President/VP/ST/BE, nominate and vote for those
people. That's the least you can do for this hobby.

Remember, the Hall of Fame committee is looking for
contributions to the hobby....articles written, offices held,
judging experience, competition experience, local and national
activity in the hobby. sopmebody from that area should be able
to come up with a list of things that can be included for Bruce
Cooper. I would be happy to help with the nomination any way
that I can if someone can do some research and get the info....
