How many non rolling offspring will you get from birds that do
roll?

I don't think most of us are actually answering the question.
The question is whether it's possible to breed good rollers from
a well-bred non-roller?
Now is it worth it to breed from a well-bred non-roller, that's
a completely different question?
As a beginner, I won't be trying that practice but I'm sure
there are some guys that do and George Mason is proof of this.
Again, no one is saying we should breed from only non-rollers or
should even breed from a non-roller. I do think this is a good
discussion point though.

I'm realatively new to the sport and a Bill Pensom supporter,
and have heard similar stories of Mr. Pensom picking out a
loft's best birds. We'll if Mr. Pensom were alive and well and
came to my loft and picked out the exact 4 or 5 birds that I
felt were the best in my loft would this say more about Mr.
Pensom, me, or both he and I? after all, if I can be new and
my thoughts on my best birds match Mr. Pensom thoughts on my
birds then on some rudimentary level we're equal. (that says
more about the repeated stories than it does Mr. Pensom or
myself) I know, I've had months with my birds watching them fly
and he's done it off the perch in 20 minutes. Not apples to
apples in one sense for sure. This does lead me to something I
really haven't read about Mr. Pensom- him telling a flyer that
bird and A, B, C, D, etc are execeptional off the perch. That
they were not ones the flyer considered exceptional in his loft,
but put them in his breeding program none the less on Mr.
Pensoms suggestion with great results going forward. To me this
type of story would make much more sense (on some level) than
the birds Mr. Pensom picked matched the birds the flyer felt
were his best to a tee? While a good story, on some level, makes
little sense to me. Paul Conway.

i was told by some one that had seen it personly, he could pick
the best of the performers and the best breeders in anyones
loft.... there is a article writen by this person on one of the
sites telling of this , his name is mr. bruce cooper if i can
find it again i will try to post it......tom
