Hey doc doc, yes, there is a problem. Your birds easily should
be flying 60 to 90 minutes from 5 to 6 times a week. You should
answer the same 5 questions I posed to Paul. Then you can get
some specific answers to improve your situation. Want to help

tony, I was hoping that being in molt was affecting the flight
time

Hey doc doc, well it certainly can. Just today I had 3 kit birds
come down after about 30 minutes which are missing primary and
secondary feathers. It does cause discomfort to them. Being as
that they were rolling hard, I can see why these didn't last too
long. What I will do is pull these 3 for awhile and let them
complete the molt. Then back to the kit they will a go.
So I guess you are saying the birds are flying 60 to 90 minutes,
just that the molt is reducing the time? :-\

tony, 30 min. is about the most they have ever done.But, they
have been flying for only 6 weeks and it is hot in ala. this
time of year, so I haven't been overly concerned.

Hey Dog, couple of variables here. How much & what are you
feeding them? How hot is it in the mornining when you fly. Have
you noticed in the hot weather the birds dropping early & then
try to throw up after they landed? I have 5-6 month old rubies
doing 60 minutes in 80-90 degree heat. Old birds are doing 30-60
minutes in the molt depending how they are fed the day before.
