Cliff, I have never seen your birds but based on your record I
am confident that they are much better than these. By the way,
did you see any hit the wall breaks in that video? I didn't,
just some rolling out of the back of the kit. I know videos
don't tell the whole story but based on what I saw I would be
hard pressed to give a 1.0 for either Q or D.

Well, I didn't want to brag, Joe, or sound like it is just sour
grapes. And it's a little hard to tell on a video. But
"instantaneous" breaks I did not see. That's the part that I
meant was like my kit...the routine breaks of various numbers of
birds. The only difference is that Henk's were scored. Like you
said, there was not anything impressive to have rated 20 places
above most of the US kits. I suspect a lot of other US fliers
have not seen the video, but would feel the same way if they
did. I had two other veteran judges in my yard. I counted 16
breaks for my kits...they noted 12 slam dunks. I was scored
three of them. I wish I would have vidoe recorded it. It would
be an interesting comparison!

Kind of what I thought. I have tried to remain neutral on Earl's
because I didn't actually see the man score kits. After seeing
this I am convinced that the fix was in and he came here with an
agenda. Unfortunately, I think this action on his part will
dissuade a number of participants in the future. I haven't
decided yet where I come down on that but it is kind of like
betting on boxing when the fix is on. I am sure Scott will have
something negative to say about my post but I no longer care,
too many first class flyers here in the US feel the same way I
do. Many of them are Master Flyers so he can continue to lament
about the poor sportsmanship of his countrymen, I don't care
because I can see it for what it is!!
Keep em spinning

That's the main reason to correct this, Joe. If we continue to
see similar behavior on the part of judges with their "personal
standard" or bias, which are authorized by the current rules,
then fliers will become disillusioned and stop flying. It needs
to be resolved for the good of the World Cup.

I believe the rules are fine. I think we just have to many guys
that spend more time arguing about everything in front of a
computer instead of being in the backyard flying a few kits of
pigeons and maybe becoming better flyers or trainers for that
matter. Also, no matter what changes are made to the rules we
have today or the ones we will have in the future most of the
unhappy competitors we have today will still be unhappy in the
future.
I will use this example for my belief. In our region we had a
few guys (will not mention no names, so don't ask..lol) that
would not fly because they wanted to have the morning to fly and
when arrangements where made to accommodate them, they are still
not flying. When I was asked what time I preferred I said what
ever time you got! Lol... We are either going to participate or
we are not, regardless of rule changes or no changes... And yes
I am apologizing up front for getting a little side tracked.
Lol... Can you tell I have nothing to fly... Good luck everyone!

Hi Donnie, I don't know how a 150 ft drop would look in a kit,
but that bird would be a sight for sore eyes. Your can't have
your cake and eat it to. I hope you can read between the lines.
Oh yeah, from what I have read, busy kits get scored well. I
emphasize "busy". [quote author=donnie james

I think the kit performer and the individual performer are to
different birds, and W. H .Pensom said so. In fact I'll go out
on a limb and suggest, that anyone breeding for that single
individual performance is on the road to producing the "True
Birmingham Roller".
