Hey Scott, when you say we are not animals, I guess you are
referring to the spiritual aspect. You would get no argument
from me.
Yes, when breeding pigeons, taking performance along with other
characteristics is required for the complete roller pigeon.

Where do we see the results of this poll and other polls.
Thanks.

First a perrson has to be logged in to vote or see results.
Second, the results are at the top of each discussion thread.

If this small poll sample can be extrapoliated across greater
numbers I find it hard to believe that many people simply cull a
sick bird. My approach will be to keep everything reasonably
clean and birds relatively healthy. If one gets sick, I'll
isolate and treat. If I cull each sick bird, I'll spend the
next 15 -20 years bypassing an entire area of potential growth
in myself and my care of my birds. I suspect I'll have less and
less incidents of sick birds as my growth and undertanding of my
birds increases and be quicker to understand what's happening
when an infrequent sick bird pops up.

I myself will be the 1st to admit that I love all my birds and
get way to attached... when one goes MIA or gets ill it is hard
on me so yes I am one to treat not cull. BUT.... very recently
had to go through a massive health issue in our lofts and lost
many birds. we treated with a 5-in-1 with some very good
results in some birds. the problem continued and we moved on to
other meds with very good results in some birds. but the problem
continued....we had a necropsy done, we sent out samples we took
live birds to the vet.... they never did identify what it was...
my point is if I had it to do again i would treat with the all
in one again at 1st because sometimes you just dont know....and
i feel strongly that it saved most of my birds either by
treating or preventing.

People may think I am CRUEL... :o
but, as long as I have been raising any type of
"creatures" I NEVER internally medicate a sick one. I rid the
problem immediately..... End of story..
Although I do use powders for varies things.....
