       Double Kit Box Picture
   DIR By: Quailtail

       ---------------------------------------------------------
I saw a pic of a double kit box on the internet but now can not
find it. I wanted to build one like it. It had 2 compartments,
a door for each trap, below that double doors on each side where
one or both could be opened and a wire front to let light and
air in. At least this is the way I remember it.

Has anyone else seen this and if so would you be kind enough to
       give me the link?

       Thanks
       Quailtail

Looks good johnnie. Is there a reason you don't use a trap other
       than just not wanting to?

       Johnnie,
I think you will find that it will be a pain without traps. I
tired the open door technique for awhile, but it seems like you
always jhave a bird that is a little trap-shy....or maybe a
fast eater so he's not as hungry as the others and won't trap.
It seems like I always need my birds to trap quickly so I can
get the next kit in the air. It was near impossible without
traps. But good luck with it. I hope you prove me wrong! The
       kitboxes look great!

Hi Cliff and Tobey -- don't like trapps lets in things that
din't belong like CATS CATS-- these kit boxes will be used for
break pair or for birds I don't wont to fly-- Have 4 Kit boxes
in side of ENGLISH STYLE LOFT each hold 24 or 26 birds they
have individual doors on each thats where its one way in or out.
       GOD Bless!!!

;) Johnnie i am in your corner :D I have traps on my kit boxes
if one come in late but they all flock in about 30seconds after
landing on the roof ,with the open double door kit boxes that
measures 5'high 4'whide and 3'deep. have 3 of them and one
4'x4'x7'high for the older birds, and it also is open door and
come on in.enjoy your next fly Dennis ;)

I got a question for johnnie and rookie... Why do you leave your
traps "open" for anything else to get in your kitbox??? Don't
you keep an eye on your birds when they come in? I shut my
traps "off" after my birds trap in. If one is late... it gets
"NO" food for the day. It soon learns to trap with all the
other birds. I tried not using traps and used the "open" door
systen and like Cliff mentioned, I always had "problem" birds
that wouldn't stay in the kitbox... Thus, causing problems in
       keeping the other birds in...

Windjammer i think you misunderstood my post ,yes I do have
traps on the kit boxes BUT I use the open door to let them in
after flying and if ones or 2 are still catching there breath on
the roof i close the door and open the trap, and always shut the
       trap before levying the birds.Dennis
