       Passing of Charlie Douglas Burnett
By: Tony Chavarria Date: June 29, 2011, 2:11 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Charles Douglas Burnett was born on October 10, 1943 in
       Lockwood, Missouri.
He was happy to grow up in his hometown with his three brothers
and three sisters that he loved dearly. His warm personality and
boyhood charm led him into the heart of Nadean Elizabeth Towe.
They were married on November 17, 1962 and were blessed with
three children, Lorri, Julie and Doug. Charles was a very loving
and devoted father. He and Nadean attended every ball practice,
game and activity for each of their children and enjoyed every
       minute of it.
As the children matured, married and had children of their own,
Charles and Nadean played an important role in nurturing all
eight of their grandchildren. Charles worked as a machinist with
the Frisco Railroad in Springfield for most of his life.
Because of health problems Charles retired from the railroad.
Even with asbestosis, a lung disease, he still enjoyed hunting,
fishing and shooting with friends and family. Charles left this
earthly home to family and friends waiting in heaven on May 3,
       2011.
His life will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday May 6th in
Prospect Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at 1121 West Ward
       Parkway in Springfield, MO.
