:-\ don't know anything about these birds, a beautiful bird
with band NBRC, very friendly, I think it is weak or tired but
doesn't seem to be injured. Wanted to come in the back door.
Someone please let me know what to do to help

I have it now in my sun room which is screened in with door. I
put a box out with towel, it was wanted to sit on a cloth
frisbee so I put it in the box. I have some wild bird seed and
then put a bowl of water. It is just sitting there, looks like
its sleeping but head is not under wind, don't even know if it
is suppose to do that!! It's safe and contained and can fly or
even roost on the rafters. do they roost? How do I find who lost
       it?

Thank you, have called and Mr. Taylor is trying to locate owner.
Still doing fine and pecking at food. Walking around and then
must be tired as it stands on one foot at times. I think eyes
are closed when it does this. Hope this food is ok, its a
cardinal and songbird mix. Don't think it likes it, how about
toast crumbs-we eat whole wheat? This seed looks like small
sunflower seeds and a small white seed.

Thank you for taking care of the bird. A lot of people wolud not
have! If you live near a feed store, they should sell pigeon
feed buy the pound. $2.00 worth will feed it until the owner is
found. When it closes it's eyes and stands on one foot it is
sleeping. If you have a scrap of 2x4" it would do for a
       makeshift perch.
       Thanks, you are finest kind!

There are 2" x 8" up in roof part of screened sun room(about 10
foot off ground), is this OK or do I need to put a board lower.
Can do that if better. No feed store around here I know of, but
am checking to make sure. Any other alternatives?

The 2x8 will do just fine, I hope you find some pigeon feed but
if not try some wild bird feed.
       Take care my friend

Your info helped find director or "bossman" of this area and
owner. I did find some feed and bird ate right away. Mr. Wayne
came right straight from work. Went straight to him from some
kind of sound he made. When he picked it up, it just relaxed
and like it knew. Have his number and is inviting us to watch
in July as this whole thing amazes us. He did show us and tell
us about her breastplate and said she is very thin but will be
fine as I asked if he thought she would make it as I have been
reading about how important it is for a quick rescue. Usually
only days if found unhurt. He is putting her with his babies to
get her weight back on as said others would pick on her. He
also checked under her head feathers. Said he would call us
about every week to let us know how she was. I am calling it a
her because she just is too pretty to be a boy. He did say she
was some special name I cannot remember now. Speckled something
I think. He is seeing owner at an event in later July or third
week and owner may agree to let us see her fly then as he sees
her rehab. He picked her up as he was so much closer than owner
which was about 25 miles away. The people I have spoken with,
including you, have been so helpful and concerned and nice.
Others have even invited us to watch them practice. No, we
don't intend to raise the birds, but love nature and its marvels
so we have to check this out. My older boys, 28, 30, 17 are
even fascinated by this. We saw it on a movie once but never
knew it was for real. Thank you so much to all of you so this
lost bird could find her way home, at least her home here on
earth. Oh, it is my understanding you really love and spoil
your birds, never heard of AC and heat for a birdhouse. lol
