World Cup Southeast Region Finals

I put the kit up yesterday morning for Eric. The weather was
clear and calm...65 degrees. The kit flew at a great height,
kitted well and I was pleased with their performance overall.
They did not embarass me...flew a little on the strong side, a
little less frequent than usual, pretty decent Q & D, and, of
course, some breaking that was not insantaneous.. Eric scored
threee of the breaks as 5s with the Q & D that most US fliers
have earned...Q 1.1 and D 1.1 for a total score of 18.15 which
puts me in a tie for sixth place for the moment.
Eric is a most pleasant and congenial fellow and we got the
chance to discuss his perspective on many aspects of flying
rollers, which is one of the best parts of being Regional
Director. We flew some other kits together, young birds and old
birds, and his observations were most appreciated. I think I
learn something from every finals judge I have hosted at my
place. Most impartantly, we had a good time.

Cliff...What does Q 1.4 looks like to him? did he explain to you
what Q 1.1 or 1.2 or 1.3 and so on look like in the air so that
you can say that the 1.1 was given was honest?
Now since he finished judging the USA and he went back to Europe
and S. Africa, what do you think the scores over there were?
Maybe the man was nice but he was biased. That was my take on
the whole circus show.

Your quote is correct most of the time and then a Tim Donaghe
comes out.
In the past 5 years, the average number of Americans who
finished top 15 in the WC Finals was 5.6 competitors.
This year, there was 1 competitor who was Wayne Feder.
In the past 5 years, the smallest number of Americans to place
top 15 was 4. Could it be the Americans had an off year, it's
possible. Is it likely the Americans all had a bad year? I doubt
it.
With that said, congrats to the 2011 WC Champ Kevin McKinney.

Not really, Jay....just that they didn't meet his
standard....the integrity rule can be used to explain away
anything the judge wants to do. Joe Bob, Clay Hoyle, Jay and
myself have submttted a proposal to change the rule to require
that a judge adgere to the WORLD CUP STANDARD...not his own
personal standard. Who is your WC RD in Ohio?

Tou,
I think the data that you provided speaks for itself.....very
clearly...
Are you home now? I sure enjoyed your visit...just wish you
could have seen my A-team in the air instead of just young
birds. They are just about ready to fly competition with brand
new tails and flights! You got to take home some excellent
birds...I;m jealous of that black opal you got from James. I'm
still trying to get my hands on a good Turner Dominant Opal that
is not crossed with some other family. The ones fromTy and
myself will produce some good ones for you as well. If
not...just keep us posted and we'll try again! Wendall came over
for awhile yesterday and he asked about you.......
Take care,
Cliff
PS I never did get those flowers! LOL!

Thanks Cliff for the kind words and generosity. Lol, when I came
to Greensboro, we were in a rush and I forgot to get them and
didn't realize it until I was at your house. I feel really bad
but I'll make it up to you :)
BTW, those statistics are factual for anyone who wants to look
them up. I highly doubt the entire US had bad flies.

Yea lets stomp our feet and change the rules because a one of
the top flyers in the world was very strict while judging.
Funny it seems ok when tumblers and birds that don't break
together are scored . And It's ok to have those that don't even
compete judge. But by golly lets not repect this guy, he's too
tough and hurts our pride.
I'm tired of the constant whining and snilving like a bunch of
little girls.
