How come southern ca top scores are in the 1000 and in the
south 500? Could this be more high velocity true Birmingham
Rollers being judged? :o Joe

That's very disrespectful to Scott as well. His birds barely
scored 9 points so if that's the case, the birds from the
Carolinas are 50 times better than the Northern California birds
but only half as good as the SoCal birds, right? Well played,
sir.

Tou, you may want to do a little more homework on this
(Don't make this into a coastal/regional thing because once you
do, you've lost already. California, where I was born and raised
and I consider my home state, has yet to win the World Cup.)

No disrepect here, my effort isn't in my birds at this time as I
spend most my waking hrs at this new business. I flew only to
support the region

Whoops, man enough to admit my mistakes. Sorry Mr. Ouellette.
As for Joe's post, Cliff's covered it. You can't compare across
regions when there are different judges as well. Rick Mee won
with a 200 score, Cliff with a 500, Paul Fullerton with a 9.8,
Don Macauley a 190.
Good job for all the men who participated. And yea Scott, I know
of a few guys in the MN area whose bird's aren't really ready or
at the quality they want yet but are flying just to support it.

Don't forget Robert Parker won also. Comparing regions is pure
folly. different judges, different weather, etc. Look at Aubrey
Thibidoux, scored 1000+ in the regionals and 42 in the finals.
Congrats to Cliff for winning his region and good luck in the
finals. Personally I think we have sold the farm with the
foreign judges with their own standard and agendas. JMHO
Keep em spinning

Joe, different judges hit the regionials all over the board
depending on what they will or will not score. Some judge by
higher standards and some simply don't have the experience , and
some just don't want to make the hard calls.
Trust me it is no fun handing out poor scores and multipliers,
but it must be done, not all can do it though.
Myself I like looking at the overall regions scores as it can
tell a story of the judging, many times you will see no low
multipliers such as 1.0 s 1.1 s or no low scores on a whole as
an example.
Or you see many high scores in the region and the entire region
averages 1.5 multipliers (just an example here).
The beauty is that normaly the finals judge has the experience
to seperate the wheat from the chaff and we get a much clearer
picture of reality , this current judge is no exception as he
has prooven himself many times.
Forget the regionial scores and keep an eye on the finals
scores. This is where the rubber truely meets the road.
