Turner rollers

has any one on here had trouble settling this line of rollers I
can settle my other family with in a week or so but this line
every time you let them out I seem to lose them keeped them in
for 2 weeks and let a couple young birds out and they where gone

Maybe it has something to do with the show breed blood in them ,
there are many things not right with color pigeons up and beyond
the roll , I'm assuming it has to do with the mixxed blood.

it could be this is my first time having this strain of rollers
I tried to fly this strain after about 10 day in the kit coop
and lost 7 birds the first time up witch I was told was to soon
to try and fly them buy the breeder the second group I tried to
settle was after having them in the kit coop for to week I let
them out with a nother group of young rollers of a diffrent
family witch had been coming back for a week or so and lost the
Turner birds again now when I say Turner birds these didnt come
from mr Turner but a nothere breeder with his family of birds so
that being said I am not bad mouthing any one just trying to
learn and was told to come to this web site for help with this
problem you guys and ladies on this site are the best with
rollers

Who did you get the birds from? Alot of so-called "Turner
Rollers" are merely colored rollers that have been branded with
his name. Unless you saw the parents with Turner bands on them,
chances are you did not get Turner rollers. A couple of guys on
here actually fly pure Turner rollers so they will inform you
more.
BTW Scott (Campbell), if you were going to create another
account to bash Turner, don't use your real name as your
username :). I'm just messing around lol, couldn't help myself.

look like I said before I am in no way trying to bad mouth any
one nor am I trying to say these birds are no good I am just
trying to learn what I have done wrong if it is hard to settle
them that is fine but I have nothing to say bad about the
breeder of these birds and it will not help me learn by pointing
out who I got these birds from as far as the breeder of these
birds he is a very nice guy and will do any thing to help you
out even offered to replace the first set of birds I lost but
that still is not the point of the thread I am trying to find
out what I have done wrong with the birds and what not to do any
more with othere rollers I have all ready made my mind up on not
to breed off this line of birds do to the fact one I must not be
able to handle this family to I am having good luck with a
nothere family but that still doesnt help me as a person learn
what I have done wrong and learn how to fix the problem and as
far as 2y4life you know who I got these rollers from so why ask

2y, you know the same thought crossed my mind ( that Scott C
opened up another account LOL!) But we all know thats not Scotts
style, he has always been up front and honest about his opinions
on color birds! I resepect a man for standing up for what he
belives in! 2y Scott C does have a very valid point, Alot of
color rollers had show bird blood crossed into them such as Ice
Pigeons. We all know that show birds do not have very good
homing ability if any at all! Even after generations after the
1st cross there is still that chance that the genetics from show
bird used in the cross still lingers on and will manifest its
self !Scott 70 were these birds that flew away on you young
unflown birds or old birds? To me it seems like your not giving
them enough time to settle in! You should keep them on the
hungry side when you first let them out. Are you putting them
out in a cage on the roof so that they can see their
surroundings? Try taping the 1st 3 primary flight feathers
together on 1 wing, it will disablable them enough not to fly to
far from your loft. This method is used quite freqently to
settle young English tipplers, and I can tell you from
experiance that English Tipplers are far more difficult to
settle than Rollers! Theses are just my opinions on the subject!
Can you give us more information on what you do to settle your
birds

yes these where young rollers and yes we have cages for them to
come out in I have a wire pen I also use to trape train these
bird so they have been out to see the area every day also I dont
feed them the day before I try to fly them for the first time
now I understand you say give them more time but I also have a
nothere family of rollers that I have not lost one when I have
put them out and I only had them in the kit for 5 or 6 days
using the same way on both familys but I tried the turners at 10
days and then again at 2 weeks or so and both times we tried
them we lost them now no one scared them up they went up on
there own and I also had my othere young rollers out with them
the second time so they could see them and stay with them these
are like you said have show blood in them or there just alot
diffrent then the othere family that I have now
