Animal Planet filming LI flyers

i have just learned that 'animal planet' and Mike Tyson will be
accompanying the Long Island Flyers (region 1B) as they compete
in this years NBRC championship series. This will be part of the
ongoing series featuring Mike Tyson's competing with racing
homers. I'm hoping this will give our hobby some good positive
press.

i think sometime in Jan 2011 it will air. Plus, there might be
more episodes just about flying rollers. i only hope Tyson
doesn't detract or bring in negative publicity. it might
actually get some new people to particpate in our area, but we
really won't know until afterwards. i am totally for positive
public awareness about our hobby, but am always fearful that it
can go south fast.

Interesting...What we should all do is try to support the man.
Is there a way he can be contacted by the roller community in
general and offer our support and encouragement? From what I
have seen or read about him and his birds is about like what
most of us experience when we are with our own birds...peace and
contentment. These birds are amazing! ;)

I've watched so mant vidios of Mike on youtube of him and his
birds. He seems to be so at peace when around them. I think it
will be good for our hobby. There will be those that will write
the show off just because of him, but there will be others who
will watch just because of him and maybe become one of us. I for
one will watch and try to learn something from the show. Shawn

They will be using a slomo camera in addition to the regular HD
camera. I just hope we'll have enough time to get Everyone in.

i should point out that this Animal Planet show is really about
Mike Tyson and how he competes against the other flyers, not a
documentary about BR's. I'm not even sure if this is going to
happen, but if it does, i'm sure it'll be interesting. ;)

San Jose to pick out birds for my show on Animal Planet. I cant
wait to see what he does for our hobby. I know he love pigeons
