       Up-Down-up-down

I don't know if this is normal but my birds come down and act
like they are going to land. After circling a dozen or so times
they go back up for awhile then come down. The second time down
they usually land. This happens all the time unless they are
extremely hungry and land on the first trip down. This is only
one of the things that I can't figure out about my birds.

       Hey Jon.
What age are your birds which are doing this? I get
it with young birds the first few times they are flown. I put it
down to a couple of things. 1, the birds haven't formed a chain
of command, so have no lead bird to follow in, so they start to
split and those that don't want to follow then circle back
around. 2, Again sometimes with young they can't decide when to
come in because they're still learning you management system and
they decide to continue flying. Don't forget they're a bit like
sheep and follow the leader. The only other thing I can think
of, is you location, are you in an open area? Or are you built
up or have trees close to your shed? all these could and would
make the bird a little weary on coming in especially if they've
had a bop attack or been spooked before, they're just making
       sure it's safe.

I can only fly a kit of 10 in my area. I live in the city and
yes I do have trees close by. The birds are 1 to 3 yrs old. The
kit does not split but they do it all in kit form. They have
been hit by BOP in the past but I try to keep the trees trimmed
although they grow faster than I can cut them.

I get the same thing but mine are young birds around 3 months
old, none 4 months yet. They will often fly in a circle, mostly
one wing left for a while and then right for a bit but they will
swoop down to about 10 feet high or lower, and then climb back
up to 35-50 feet. They do this for about 5+ minutes everytime I
have flown them over the past two weeks. They stay too low but
with time, they will learn to go up, I believe.

I don't have any problem when they go up except sometimes they
go to high for me to see what they are doing. I have been back
into birds for about four years now and they all do it. I fly
two 10 bird kits so i don't think they learn this from the other
kit. Anyway they do what they do.
