[font=verdana]I have a 5 month old bird that bumped the other
day, I couldn't believe what I saw. I had just let the kit out
to fly and 40 feet above my house over the front yard I see this
bird in a very tight roll drop out of view beyond my house top,
had to be at least a 50 ft deep, I said "OH CRAP" I knew what
had just happened. I go to the front yard and find it walking
around the base of a lilac bush, since then it will only fly out
of the kit box and land immediately. What do you think is up? is
it scared to fly in fear of doing that again? I sure would like
to see that bird in the air again, that roll came with very
       little fly time and or

Hi John I had a couple of young birds do the same thing last
summer. When they started rolling more then singles one day they
just rolled till they hit the ground. I could not get them to
fly for some time. So after couple of weeks of feeding them up
and some rest. I took them half a mile from my loft and made
them fly. They would land on the closest building hang out for a
few, then fly to the loft. I would let the rest of the kit out
when i saw them coming back to the loft. It did help build their
confidence again and it gave them no choice they had to fly
home. I was just about to give up on them after two months and
all of a sudden they started flying with the kit like they never
had a problem. They also had a few more times they bumped or
almost bumped. Both those birds are now on my A team and are
doing fantastic. They turned out to be deep rollers and have
learned to control their rolling. I do think they scare
themselves when this happens. All of a sudden they have more
roll then they can control at that time. I have also had to cull
in the past because they could never get it back together. Would
not fly or always be a roll down. Good luck with your roller!!!
