New kit loft (I cheated) purchased
By: Arrowslinger Date: April 28, 2013, 9:16 am
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Well after researching materials and such reaching out to find
other roller breeders I was beginning to think I was alone. Then
about a week ago I sent an email to a fancier I had met at a few
roller fly's, Larry Pridmore of the Carolina Pigeon Club and
also a master breeder of Mookies. The email was a in general if
he knew any roller breeders that I may not? The next day Larry
had no luck in an email back to me, but a day later he had great
       news.

Seems he had built a kit loft and helped a gentleman with some
rollers from the James Turner and Tony Roberts collaboration.
This fellow due to hawks recently decided to sell the kit box
and what rollers he had left. He passed along the number and
Wednesday after a few calls the deal was made and I owned now
       the box and birds

Thanks to my brother, his F250 and an 18 foot motorcycle
trailer, Thursday afternoon we made the 100 mile trip north to
pick up the box. The box has 24 box perches per section, homer
type drop in traps, wired electric outlets, circulation vents
and clean out try under each section. I plan to modify one
section for a small breeder loft.

Arrow...... looks like you got a real deal. Good for YOU. In
the past I have been fortunate enough to come across pre- built
lofts several times in my pigeon racing endeavors. Like that old
saying goes.... One mans junk, could be another mans treasures..
I am always on the look out for "future" buildings.... Best of
       luck to you......

Your reply reminded me as a teenager my Dad and I would be
riding around he would see an old fridge, stove, cabinet on the
side of the road. He always had the same comment: "Hey look
someone is getting rid of a perfectly good........"
       ;D
The kit box has turned into two purposes at the moment in two
sections I have a pair each breeding. Lack of breeders (four
pair) is forcing me at the moment to do it this way. I really do
not mind considering I am working with Turner/Roberts and
Reece/Powell birds. Through tons of emails and NPA/IPB band
traces I found birds I purchased here (Reece/Powell) are
descendants of the birds I worked with in the 80s
Each section does contain 24 perches but with the top boards the
box can easily contain 30 birds.

Very nice man. If you ever get tired of it send it my way in the
       Great White North. LOL
       Good Luck
