Old bird

I know this was covered before but I can not find it. I have a
cock that was banded in 1995. He is blind in one eye but still
fairly active. I keep him with my hens because because they are
more mellow than the cocks. How long (on average) do birds like
this live? Every day I go out and expect to see him dead.

Jon, Death is something that no one can predict, but he is
gettting on and one day soon you will just go out there and he
will be sleeping for good... not a bad way to go.

I got this cock about 5yrs ago when I got into birds. I was told
that he was a very good bird. He gave me a couple rounds but I
was not knowledgeable enough to do anything with the YB'S. I
figured that he served his previous owner well so I was just
going to let him live out a peaceful life in a familiar home. ;D
