Hawk deterrent to put on my shed?

Okay, I've got a bit of a problem. I have a small shed thats
about 50 ft from my kitbox and the coopers hawks keep using this
as cover. They come shooting over it just as my birds are
landing and snag a bird, it happened again this morning. >:( It
happens so fast, theres not much I can do to scare them away in
time. I'm trying to think of something I can put on the roof or
backside of the shed to scare them. Any ideas? Joe

hay joe put some of wire or board under there where the bop set
at and make go around the building that should work for you

Put a sign on the loft that says 'CLOSED'. That should keep
them safe until its time to fly again in the Spring. LOL

hey roll down, I had the soame tactics used on me this morning.
I learned from that too. There is tall pines 200 east behind my
ruby loft , then 15' in front of that is my ruby kit pin
Cooper Hawk swooped from the tall pines I think swooped abot 2
ft ove the ruby brood pin, there I set and he flew right over me
and the ruby kit pen and flew to a low limb on an oak
sitting on limb like 100' infront of me just looking around.
Some birds were into landing, trapping, some hauled butt and
some just sat there for a little while but trapped, the other
aerial birds come on in in about 5 min trapped. No loss of
pigeons------------------ chesley

Hey Rolldown I put some 12" by 12" inch mirrors around the
loft area. I read on a racing pigeon site that hawks don't like
shinny things. So i put some mirrors on the roof of my shed,
loft and house and have not had a problem with hawks at the
loft. Also hang some old cd's on some string and they will spin
in the wind. Now when i do have an attack it is will they are
flying. The birds seam to evade the hawks when the are out in
the open. Not so lucky when being surprised by the hawk using
cover to sneak up on them. This has worked for me and doesn't
bother your rollers at all.

There are no effective deterrents, unfortunately. Most of these
gimmics are ineffective once the hawk figures out they are not
really a threat.....and they WILL figure it out. Some sort of
visible barrier or netting would probably be more effective.

Netting = trapping in the eyes of the fed's.$10,000 type fines.

For starters your loft and setup may be showcasing your dinner
menu via wired pens and other blatant non-obscured views of your
birds. Are these BOP hanging around because they see them all
day long and are just waiting for the next tasty meal and the
opportunity to go feed?
Cover your loft, all exposed views to your birds and lock down
for awhile. Hunger will cause the BOP to seek prey elsewhere.
Use its own biological drives to make it go away on its own.

Joe,
I am not recommending netting them. I was thinking more along
the lines of the camo netting used to make hunting blinds that
might serve as a barrier deterrent. They look like a solid wall
and would be unlikely to ensnare the BOP, just make them look
for alternative routes of attack, which I think was rolldown's
objective , if I understood him correctly. Obviously if the BOP
started becoming entangled in it, it would have to come down.

Joe..... I put up 2 firugrines of OWL's, they are about 2' tall
and have heads that swivel when the wind blow. at each corner of
my 18'x21' loft. It kept the hawks from attacking the birds on
the roof. The attacks come while the birds are in the air.
But, like Cliff stated once they get use to the deterients, they
go back to the attacks.... Thank GOD I have resident CROWS they
do a get job of chasing the BOP out of my fly space
