FIRST TIME FLYING!

I flew my rollers for the first time! they stayed together for a
little bit but then they all went their own way. I flew five of
the ten. two of them came to the roof later in the evening and
we had to catch them and put them in, the other three came back
the next day (today) and they actually went into the door on
their own! It was magical to watch them fly, one of them was a
good roller (at least to my inexperienced eyes)
I think I need to work on my training so they will come back. I
do shake the can and whistle when I call them. Suggestions
welcome!
Here is my routine:
I put the pigeons in a cage on a bush with water (no food) when
I put them in I push them through the door and I shake the cage
and whistle and call them (I can't whistle very loud) and I feed
them. I do admit I have not done this on a consistent basis. I
would like them to stay together.

Hi Shelley..... First of all, I would recommend that you keep
the birds "Hungry". Put the birds in a settling cage so they
get use to their surroundings for about 10 days. Then, after
they have been out for about 5 days I would put the drops
(traps) down and call them into eat. Repeat this several times.
They will soon get the idea to come thru the drops without
hesitation. After to 10 day period I would then just open the
door for their release and let them come out on their own. Just
let them do their thing for a few days. Continuing to call them
in with the feed can and whistling. then after a few days of
that I would chase them up and make them fly. All this time
keep them on the hungry side. Once they are flying for you, you
can then start to make adjustment to their feed to get them to
fly longer or higher. If you have any question during this
process feel free to contact me with any further questions.

REMEMBER.... be patient and CONSISTENT....
