Ruby update

Hi all,
I let out a kit of 13 young Rubys this morning for a fly. These
birds are the results of using the bull system, They all share
the same sire bred on 3 hens! They are all in the 9-10 months
age bracket. Wow what a performance they put on today! Each
break consisted of 10 -11 birds breaking into the best rolling
performance I have seen in my short time breeding rollers. I am
very pleased with their progress! The bull system is a bit more
work than the conventional breeding method, but its days like
this that makes me smile!

Hi Paul, I would say that the odds of you getting some nice
birds in your breedings are in your favour! Like anything else
we only get out what we put in. This is my second year breeding
Rubys, I am just getting the hang of "recognising" quality, and
what to choose for breeding in the future! Breeding for quality
is my aim! Even it it means culling down to just 2-3 birds bred
each year. It will be years before I can get together a kit of
21 birds of uniform performance, but hey I like a challenge LOL!

Hey Raul... what is your feeding regiment?? I've been feeding
my birds straight wheat for the last week and have noticed they
are flying "extremely" fast and high with not much action. (1
tbl per bird) I started adding milo. (3/4 cup wheat,1/4 cup
milo) for a couple of feedings now. I haven't noticed any change
yet... My birds are all around 6 mo old...
