World cup scores

Hi guys after some research on World cup winners score cards, I
have found that the average score on winning kits is but a mere
fraction within the winner and the loser! What stands out in
the history of this prestigious competition is that only 2 men
have ever achieved over 1000+ on their score sheet! Monty Niebel
Heiner Biker ! Now I am not a political man, and I don't
believe in cronyism, but something odd happened here! Was this
just a case of you scratch my back and ill scratch yours??

You need to do a little more research on scores Raul. In 2008,
there were 4 finalists that scored over 1000 pts in their finals
fly. Rich Hayes USA won with 1950.72. Hannes Rossouw SA, Riann
Krueger SA, Aubrey Thibideaux USA scored 1571, 1392 and 1206
respectively. In 2007 three finalists scored over 1000, 2 of
which scored 2,000+. 2005 had 4 finalists over 1,000. There have
been several fliers scored over 1000 pts in regional
competitions over the yrs too.
In the cases you cited and others, I dont believe it was any
political hanky-panky at all. It is more a symptom of varying
judges level of acceptibility, or what they are willing to score
as a minimum. Heine has been quoted after his first WC judging
tour as being too favorable in his minimal scoring standard and
his application of multipliers.
There were also a few years where a rule was mis-interpreted. A
definition of 1/2 sec to initiate rolling was construed to mean
any rollers that go within 1/2 of each other were considered
part of the break. The result of the mis-use of the rule was
that a break could initiate over 2-3 seconds so long as there
wasnt more than 1/2 second between birds commencing rolling. The
intent has always been for birds to break simultaneously
together. The language in attempting to define that got wrongly
applied. This of course led to higher, inflated scores too.
There is a distinct lack of what constitutes a minimally
scorable roll and/or a break in WC and NBRC fly competition
rules. Clarifying may help some to reduce the variance in judges
scoring. But, there will always remain a great deal of
subjectivity in the calls made. It is not an equitable
comparison to take scores from one judge compared against scores
from another judge acrosst the board.

Wishiwon, thanks for info, what I meant was that Monty and
Heiner were the 1st 2 men to score over 1000+ points in the
history of the world cup fly. Heiner being the first with
1300pts and the Monty with 1894.40. If you ask me, the huge
disparity in how judges score kits speaks volumes!

??? I didn't realize World cup judges had Super human time
calculation skills!
