I will try and help you out a little more. there are a lot of
reasons why a baby would die in the nest, they get cold, or the
parents birds are young and don't feed them, or Worms, if they
are in an open loft another older bird goes in and chases off
the parents, just to name a few. If all the above is OK than you
look for sickness from dirty feeders and waterers. Paratyphoid
is one of the biggest, the parent birds get infected from mice
droppings, than there is e-coli, coccidiosis, canker, way to
many more to name here that can cause baby's to die, there are
many differant meds on the market to cure things and or vacinate
for sickness, some may work, some not as a good, you may have to
try a few differant ones to see what works for you. Yes when it
comes to sickness in your birds you do need to read and read a
lot, everybody that raises pigeons will have a problem from time
to time. Another good way to bring sickness into your loft, is
allowing other pigeon people to walk into your loft after coming
out of there own or someone elses, this is hard to control when
you like to show off your birds, just something to be aware of.

I have found a treatment for Paratyphoid. Baytril 100
(enrofloxacin) 250mL. It works. It's used on cattle, swine and
poultry. Check with a vet to get Baytril 100. Use 1 1/2 to 2 mL
per gal water. Have no other water available. Treat for a week.
No youngsters lost after using Baytril 100. I raised 33 for a
friend and they all are kitting and working great for him. At
lease someone can raise and watch some great birds. The sky has
become shark infested here in northern CA year round. :'( Joe
