       one of my pigeon eggs didn't hatch so I shot it, now the
       youngens leg is starting to spread. should I do anything about
       it?

       Because the egg didn't hatch you shot it, what did you shoot the
       unhatched egg?  or the parent birds? If the hatched squab is now
       getting spread leg and it no longer has a parent to feed it, you
       won't need to worry about it very long. It depends on how bad
       and how long the leg has been spadled, you sometimes can help
       them out, sometimes not, just one of the things you need to
       learn when raising pigeons, even when all go's good and you can
       get the young bird up and flying, the next thing that happens is
       it might get sick and die or a hawk makes a meal of it. Just the
       way things are sometimes.
