"Why would the Black Ghost in the Moonlight show himself during
the day, hmm?" a voice asked, and then chuckled.
Cerys scowled. "What the hell do you want?" she asked angrily,
crouching even lower to the ground, like a cat ready to spring.
Sora growled nervously, sidestepping a little closer to her. He
needed to protect her... this wasn't a good situation, and he
had a feeling that someone was going to get hurt. He would do
anything to make sure it wasn't Cerys...

"What the hell do you want?" the girl asked angrily, crouching.
Alex saw the griffin move closer to the girl.
"It's not what I want," he said slowly, emphasizing the I. "It's
what a small group of determined...hunters want. Fortunately for
you...I want them to fail..."

Selena awoke to the bright sunshine, it was already late in the
day.
"I overslept"
Something was different today, everything felt a little off. A
friend was in danger.
"Nixie, where is Cerys?" Selena quietly asked.
"Wonderland" Nixie silently responded.
"Well, I guess thats where we're going."

David looked from Cerys to the woods and he raised an eyebrow. A
man was talking to Cerys--and pissing her off. "What the bloody
hell's going on?" He asked quietly.

"No clue," Cerys replied quietly. Then she turned her attention
back to the mysterious voice.
"If you want them to fail, then I assume you have no business
with us. We are, however, more than prepared for a fight, if one
becomes necessary..." She tried to sound more confident than she
actually was. She had no clue who this person was, or what he
wanted... but as he had said something about 'hunters', she
could only assume he was after Sora or Alikae. She couldn't let
either of them die. She had to protect them...

Alex stepped out from behind the tree, but kept himself in the
shadows.
The man which Soraxos had seen stepped out next to the girl,
speaking to her softly.
She replied in kind, and then turned back to Alex saying "If you
want them to fail, then I assume you have no business with us.
We are, however, more than prepared for a fight, if one becomes
necessary..."
Alex chuckled again, and whistled briefly. Soraxos hooted in
response and flew back to him.
As he did so, Alex said "If I believed you could handle
yourselves, then I would not of come. These are true hunters;
they kill for pleasure, and will not stop at just one. My
purpose here is to...remove...them from their business, and
since I know they come for you, then with you I will be when
they come."
Alex stroked Soraxos as he landed, hooting softly. "Oh and don't
worry, none of you will be harmed by me if I can help it..."
Alex said, looking meaningfully at the man.
For some reason, the man looked familiar to him, or similar to a
man he had seen before.
One name came suddenly to mind, but Alex kept it to himself.
'Well met Hatter, well met.'

David turned to Cerys and whispered softly. "I don't think we
should trust this guy..." He gulped as the man stared at him,
"He's up to something, I know it."

Cerys nodded. "I definitely don't trust him, since Alikae
doesn't..." she trailed off, before continuing. "But if he's
right, and these hunters really are after us... I can't take
that risk. Maybe we should let him come with us for a bit." She
frowned and bit her lip. If he's telling the truth, we probably
wouldn't survive without him, since he seems to know these
hunters... but if he's lying, we'll just be in more danger by
traveling with him. Completely unsure of what to do, she glanced
up at Sora for a bit. "What do you think?" she whispered to him,
stroking his feathers gently.
Sora crooned softly, looking between Cerys and the man outside,
who he could just barely see. He considered for a moment, then
looked down at Cerys again and nodded. She sighed and turned
back to David. "Sora thinks it's alright..." she said
hesitantly. "What do you think...?"

Cerys bit her lip again, looking between Sora and David. On the
one hand, she trusted Sora with her life. On the other hand...
she trusted David at the very least as much as she trusted Sora.
"I think... David's right," she finally decided in a whisper.
"This could all be a trap... and I've had enough of that for a
lifetime." Sora's face fell and he turned away, and Cerys
sighed.
"Look, Sora," she said softly. "It's not that I don't trust you.
I do think there's a possibility that he could be telling the
truth... but I think David has a point. If he's telling the
truth and we ignore him, then these hunters are going to come
after us. I highly doubt that they're as powerful as he makes
them out to be... If he's lying and we travel with him, he could
murder us all in a second. I won't trust someone that doesn't
deserve it, Sora," she said softly, placing a hand on his
shoulder. He made an irritated noise and looked away, shuffling
his right wing. His left was still broken, but mending quicker
than he had thought...
Cerys took a step back when Sora turned away again. For a
second, something sparkled at the corners of her eyes, but she
blinked and it was gone. She turned back to the man outside.
"Sorry, but we're not interested... we can take care of
ourselves. We're alive, aren't we?" she said coolly. Then she
looked at David, Alikae, and finally Sora. "Let's go. We can't
stay here..."
