her voice just barely a whisper.

David froze as all the hairs on the back of his neck stood on
end. "H...huh?" He managed to force out as he took a step back.

Cerys bit her lip when David took a step back. She was holding
back tears again. "Th-that came out wrong..." she said quietly.
She looked up at him, then stood up unsteadily. "I'm sorry..."
she said once more, putting her head down. She unconsciously
clutched at her left arm, the one that was cut. The blood welled
up through her fingers, turning her hand red. She didn't really
notice, nor did she care. She glanced up at David again, then
looked back down quickly. She didn't know what to say now...

David nearly choked on the lump that was welling up in his
throat and nervously put his hand on Cerys's shoulder. "I didn't
mean..." He started, not sure of what to say at this point. He
took a really deep breath, spun Cerys around, and kissed her on
the lips.
After a few seconds, David let go and flinched as he waited for
her to smack him--which he expected.

((This is very awkward, especially when the person you're
roleplaying with is sitting on the other side of the room. XP))
Cerys jumped when David kissed her, then blinked when he let go.
O...kay?
He flinched, like he expected her to hit him. She smiled
slightly. "A bit impulsive, are we?" she asked quietly. Then she
laughed. "Do you honestly think I'm going to hit you?" she asked
jokingly. "I wouldn't get my hopes up, if I were you."

David gulped and cracked on eye open to look at Cerys. He was
about to ask why she wasn't mad, but let it go; if she wasn't
going to hit him, there was no reason to push her into doing so.

The man turned to the girl, muttering something indistinct.
Alex watched carefully as the two of them talked.
Reaching some conclusion, the girl turned back to look at Alex,
saying "Sorry, but we're not interested... we can take care of
ourselves. We're alive, aren't we?" before turning back to the
man, and then slowly proceeding to leave.
Alex shrunk back into the shadows of the trees.
'Yes your alive...for now.' he thought, his view of them
instantly losing any merit of intelligence.
You don't turn down an offer to live from Alex Soraxus.
Nonetheless, he did have a job to do, and he was getting paid a
rather enormous amount. Anonymous jobs always did pay a lot.
Sighing, he followed the group of 'stupid' people and creatures
silently, the best he ever had.
Soraxos didn't move at all, except to turn his head slowly,
scanning the trees as they went.
It wasn't long before the group stopped to make camp, so Alex
hung back keeping them just in view.
Suddenly, a noise from far behind him caught his attention, and
then suddenly a scream from the girl in front.
'Already occupied, and apparently they can take care of
themselves. But this lot are mine...' Alex thought, turning to
face the hunters which he knew were coming.
The hunters slowly crept through the trees, but there were not
stealth trained. Each step they made caused a sound.
Suddenly, an owl hooted from above them.
The hunters all looked at each other...petrified.
Only one man travelled with an owl
Some minutes later, Alex had made his way back to where he had
been keeping watch before, only to find just the creatures
remained.
Scowling he walked forward. "Where are they?" he asked, not
unkindly.

Cerys smiled at David, and then took his hand. "Come on... God
knows what could've happened to Sora and Alikae by now," she
said quietly.

Sora and Alikae both jumped up at the sound of a voice behind
them. They spun around, Alikae stumbling slightly. She growled
and crouched low to the ground, recognizing the man from before.
She took a wary step back.
Sora, however, nudged her gently with his beak and then looked
meaningfully towards the forest, where Cerys and David had gone
to. Then he turned back to the man in front of them, gazing
directly into his eyes. His sky-blue eyes held pain, but also a
measure of trust. Then he looked away and broke the contact,
laying down on the ground again with a sigh. After a moment's
wary hesitation, Alikae did the same.

Cerys froze for a moment, and her smile faded. "We need to get
back," she said sternly. She started walking quickly back
through the trees, not knowing (or even really caring) if David
was following her. Alikae!

David suddenly blushed when Cerys took his hand, but then, when
she took off, he started to get worried. He followed close
behind her as they ran back to where he'd left Alikae and Sora.

<Another day another bounty collected> Kai smiled as he headed
down the path he usually took, holding the eye of his latest
kill. Suddenly his ears perked up, two people were talking
nearby. He made his to the sound and took to the shadows
quickly. After some observing of the conversation he began to
think <Hm....these two young ones look, interesting> He smiled
<They might need someone of my experince> Kai thought for a
little while longer <Perhaps I could assist them from the
shadows...yes, that would be the wisest move for now> Kai then
followed Cerys and David, keeping himself well hidden
