The man led the girl to Hatter's Tea Shoppe. He walked inside
the empty building and led the girl to a back room--an office.
He told her to wait before slipping inside the office.
"What?" A man with a British accent said angrily.
"I have a girl here, an Outsider..." The middle aged man said.
Before he could continue, the other man in the room spoke.
"Bring her in, then," He said smoothly, "Don't want to keep our
       guest waiting, now do we?"
The middle aged man nodded and brought the girl in. The man in
the room was sitting in his chair, back facing the door. "Here
she is," The middle aged man said.
At first, the other man said nothing. Then, he finally spoke,
but didn't turn around just yet. "Would you like a cup of tea?"
       He asked.

Cerys followed the man that had found her, looking at him
curiously when he called her an Outsider. Well, I guess I would
be... but why does he seem so afraid...?
She went into the room that he indicated, staying silent at
first. Then, when he asked if she wanted a cup of tea, she felt
her temper flare momentarily before she managed to control it
again. "No, thank you," she said politely. "You see, I have more
important matters on my mind than the consumption of tea. My
griffin has a broken wing, another of my friends got separated
from the two of us, and I wasn't supposed to be in this area in
the first place. I just need to get back home, you see," she
said coolly, careful not to reveal too much. She still didn't
know if he could or would help her.

from the two of us, and I wasn't supposed to be in this area in
the first place. I just need to get back home, you see."
David slowly spun around in his chair and gave the girl a look
of curiosity. "I see," He said in his British accent, standing
up. He walked towards her and circled her, eyeing the mark on
her arm. "Well," He said as he grinned, "That sucks, now doesn't
it?" Seeing the look of anger wash over the girl's face, David's
       smile disappeared.
Suddenly, the man who'd brought the girl to him was next to him.
"I want a good price," He whispered into his ear. David groaned
and walked over to a cabinet. He grabbed a small bottle of pink
liquid. "What's that?" The man asked.
"Excitement," David replied with a grin on his face, "From
before artificial emotions were all taken by the tyrant. One
drop and you'll experience what it feels like to have a real
thrill." He started handing the bottle to the man but quickly
pulled it back. "Warning," He began, "Don't drink it on an empty
stomach and only one tiny drop at a time or else it may bust
your shriveled up little heart." He paused for a moment. "Got
it?" The man nodded and David gave him the bottle. "Go," He
said. The man raced out the door and David sniffed his hand. "He
       really smells."

Sora growled when the man mentioned a 'price'. Cerys looked down
at him. "Sora, behave yourself," she whispered. He growled again
and laid down on the floor in front of her, with his right side
towards the two men. Cerys sighed and kneeled down beside him,
stroking his feathers. "Easy, boy, easy. It's all right. They're
not going to hurt us." I hope. "It's okay, Sora, it's alright."
Cerys looked up as Sora calmed down slightly. She smiled
uncertainly. "So... can you help us?" she asked, looking up at
the one man left in the room.

The girl smiled uncertainly. "So... can you help us?" she asked.
David smiled. "Yes," He said before shifting his eyes up for a
moment, thinking. "No, not exactly," He said, "But, I know some
people who know some... well, other people..." He got right up
into the girl's face, "It's just one of the advantages of
running a tea shoppe," He said, popping the 'p' at the end.
Seeing the girl flinch in surprise, David's smile faded.
"Lighten up," He muttered before stepping away from the girl. He
adjusted his hat on his head and cleared his throat. "I'm
Hatter," He said cheerfully, "And you might be?"

"Cerys," Cerys replied uncertainly. Sora simply growled in
response, and Cerys sighed. "And the grumpy one here is Sora..."
she added. She stood up, ignoring Sora's protest. "Look, Sora,
if he can help then I'm all for it," she said firmly. "We need
to get out of here, and quick..."
She looked back up at the man, Hatter. "I'm sorry about him,"
she said, gesturing at Sora. "He's been like this since we
landed here... he broke his wing, see. Do you know someone who
can help him?" she asked pleadingly, looking down at Sora again.
He glared up at her, obviously displeased. She sighed. Looks
like somebody got up on the wrong side of the bed...

"Yes," David said as he started walking towards the back door,
"He's a man called Dodo... but he's on the other side of Poker
Woods..." He tapped his chin in thought before opening the door.
       "Shall we?" He said smoothly.
       --Time Skip--
David, Cerys, and Sora had been walking through Poker Woods for
at least twenty minutes before David started hearing strange
noises. He stopped abruptly and spun around; Cerys slammed into
him, but he ignored it. "We're being followed," He said quietly,
"By a Jabberwock. Keep your voice low and your breathing
       shallow..."

"Ow...!" Cerys protested when David stopped suddenly, and she
slammed into him. However, she immediately stopped complaining
when David said something about being followed. "A...
Jabberwock? What's that?" she asked in a whisper. She looked
back behind her, where Sora was still making his way slowly
towards them. On top of his wing being broken, he was limping
heavily on his back left leg. She bit her lip as he stumbled
over a tree root, then struggled to his feet again. She looked
up at David, fear plain in her eyes. "We need to get Sora out of
       here..."

"A... Jabberwock? What's that?" Cerys asked in a whisper.
Damn Outsider's knowledge... or lack-there-of. "A Jabberwock is
like a big, ugly, snarling dragon that can't fly and attack
       anything that moves," David explained.
"We need to get Sora out of here..." Cerys said.
David nodded. "Right, come o--" He cut himself off and took a
step back as his eyes widened. "Don't... move..." He said
softly. A Jabberwock had approached silently from behind and was
sniffing Sora. David's brow furrowed and he suddenly ran to the
side. "HEY! Over here!" He shouted. The Jabberwock roared and
started running after David. "Cerys! Run! NOW!!"

"What--?" Cerys asked, looking around. "David...!" she
exclaimed, looking between him and Sora. "Sora, come on," she
urged, running to the griffin and trying to push him away. He
protested, grabbing her collar with his beak and trying to drag
her with him. "Sora, go!" she exclaimed, slapping his neck. He
looked at her, hurt, and limped away as fast as he could.
Cerys sighed, then put her hands in her pockets. When she took
them out again, she had her gloves on. The claws shone in the
dim half-light as she sneaked around behind the dragon-like
thing. Sora, get away... she prayed silently, then ran in front
of the thing. "Hey! Ugly!" she shouted, waving one of her clawed
hands in the air. She ran around and slashed it in the side and
danced away again. "Come and get me, you big, blind brute!" she
       exclaimed.
