       Rise of Imperium

A large snow covered mountain men climb, higher and higher, the
cold winds nipping at what little flesh they left exposed. The
men seeking a rush, wanting to prove themselves so they came to
this mountain. Hundreds have attempted to climb the cold icy
cliffs and hundreds have turned back in fear that the reaper
would claim them for his own. Ice pikes dig into the side of the
mountain as the men got higher, a hand grips a ledge and slowly
pulls himself up. He gets to his feet and can just make out a
cave, he looks back calling to his brothers. "Lets take shelter
from the wind!" His voice just audible over the blowing wind.
The men stagger into the cave, lighting a flare to see how big
it was. "Whoa, it's huge." The man with the flare goes deeper
into the dark cave lighting the way for his brothers. "It's
really big." The flare flickers out, the man looks at it and
then is grabbed from behind being yanked back, falling to his
back. "The hell was that for?" He looked at the man who pulled
him. "Pay attention next time." The second man nodded ahead, to
a cliff. The man on the ground looked forward, he had looked
away at the flare just as he was going to step off the ledge.
       "Oh, thanks."
Three group of men, three fires allowing all to feel the warm
embrace that it gave, the height a blessing from the gods
themselves. One man was a local, who knew of the mountain, he
was mumbling to himself, catching the ear of one of the
climbers. "You ok over there Akley?" Akely, the local looked up
at the climbs who have now set their eyes on him. "We should not
be here, we should not climb any higher." The climbers rolled
their eyes looking away, all but one or two. "Yeah why is that?"
Akely looked down deeper into the cave. "Can you not hear it?
The breathing of the beast?" The men who have turned their gaze
away chuckled, the other two looked down the cave listening.
"It's just the wind, not some beast." Akely stood up. "No! You
fools no nothing! The beast, if you wake him, we all will die!"
The two men looked at one another then back at Akely. "If you
wish to go back, we will take you." They stood looking at the
other climbers. "He is sick, we are going to turn back, the rest
of you carry on. The two men, shock hands with the other
climbers and headed back down the mountain, Akely looked back.
"If you were wise, you too, will turn back."
The climbers who did not turn back were once again climbing
higher on the mountain, bitter cold hitting them, their vision
shorter then their arm span, they hear nothing but the roar of
the wind blowing. One of the climbers slams his pick into an ice
wall, it was not safe, the ice wall cracked. "Shit.." The
climber knew this was not good, he tried to call to the others
to stop, but his voice was lost in the wind. As more picks dug
into the ice, the crack from below, shooting up, as if playing
connect the dots, each time it did the climber looked down, then
up watching the crack rising, helpless to warn the ones above.
Higher and higher the crack went, then it stopped, all the men
looked at one another, a chilling calm in the air. The sheet of
ice, broke, sliding down the side of the mountain, the men swung
on their ropes, using their picks to hold themselves away from
the falling sheet. Some where not so lucky, getting hit by
chunks of ice, others being pulled down by those who were hit by
the chunks. After only a few seconds it was over, the large
sheet of ice had fallen, with it, five men. The remaining men
all had their heads down, as if what they just was never
happened, confused, and scared. "What the hell!?" One man's
voice called out, with the wind eerily silent, the survives were
able to hear him and looked up, he was pointing over where the
large sheet of ice once was. The climbers eyes widened to see a
auburn, gold like patch of, what they that earth, espoused. The
climbers all slowly made their way back over to the patch,
placing their gloved hands on it, trying to figure out what it
was. One man shrugged bring back his pick and dug it into the
       side of the unknown matter.
With the pick dug in, the patch slide open relieving a cerulean
orb. "What the-" Before the man could finish speaking the
mountain started to shake, chunks of ice the size of houses feel
from the top, exposing more of the auburn gold colored matter.
The climbers soon lost all hope to survive as a shadow soon
consumed them, then their eyes caught the glimpse of a chunk of
ice falling right above them. The mountain was falling apart,
down lower on the mountain, Akley and the other two climbers
looked up to see the chunks falling, the large white cloud of
snow forming around the mountain blocking their sight from what
was happening. Akley dropped to his knees, his head down. "He,
has awaken, all hope, is lost, your friends, have died." The two
climbers looked up before at one another, they quickly turned,
pulling Akley to his feet, they ran as fast as they could down
the side of the mountain. They lost their footing and started to
fall, their bodies bouncing off the mountain, rolling until they
fell of a ledge twenty feet, one of the climbers slammed his
pick into the mountain stopping himself, and the other two men
as well. The three men, out of breathe looked up at where a
large white cloud formed around the mountain, the last thing
they say, a large, auburn golden colored create flying out of
the snow cloud and into the air, then, a wave of snow came
rushing over the ledge. Akley laid his head back, speaking but
one word. "Imperium" Before the wave consumed the men, burying
       them in a snow tomb.
~Thousands of years ago, a beast formed the universe, created
the worlds as we know it, upon doing this the beast, lost much
of his energy, and body mass. Seeking to recover her found his
way to one of the many planets he formed to lay and rest,
hundreds of years passed, snow fall over him, then ice, soon his
body formed the mountain which all wish to climb for it was the
largest. Locals had small villages around the mountain, having
herd that it was the creator, the god of their planet. Their
ancestors told them, the ancestor's ancestors told them, and so
on and so on for thousands of years. The men who seek the thrill
of the climb all know of the local's legend, but they ignore it,
something so absurd can not be true and will not stop their
quest to be known. The locals knew they could not stop the
climbers, so the wished to help, to perhaps save their lives,
and to keep the sleeping beast as he lays.~
The mountain fell apart, a sweeping wave of snow spread over the
land, swallowing whole villages. Soon miles around the mountain
was now covered in a blanket of snow and chunks of ice, the
mountain nothing but a small hill. Imperium was awake, and free
at least soaring over the land, his eyes scanning the planet
below, what he saw was not what he planned. The beings of the
planet have stripped it, where forest should be there were
cities, lakes filled with chemicals, the beings have killed the
planet. Imperium roared in fury, the sound echoing like thunder
for miles, shacking the very planet he flew over. Imperium
landed in a field, once again roaring, he felt the pain of the
planet, and grew anger. He put out his wings as they started to
shine brightly. With one flap he took off, at the same time he
sent a burst of energy downward at the planet, cracking the
surface as it went deeper into the ground. Imperium broke
through the clouds, and then the atmosphere, turning to look
down at the planet below as the crack he created spread over it
as if it was glass. From wit in the cracks a red light glowed,
it was lave, the core of the planet had been struck by the
energy wave, and had exploded. Imperium looked away, once again
flapping his wings taking off through the cosmos just as the
       planet he once slumbered, exploded.
Imperium roamed the cosmos in search of a new home, perhaps one
that was not so corrupt as the one he had just come from, one
that the beings who called it home, respect the land more. His
eyes feel on a blue planet, -Earth-, and he quickly descended
downward upon it. He flew around the land, surveying it and the
beings who called it home. Auburn scales glistened in the
sunlight, stronger then steel or diamonds, razor-sharp claws
poised and ready to pierce through any armior, flesh, or bone,
mighty wings sent gusts of wind with each stroke, propelling
Imperium through the vast skies. Mighty wings send gusts of wind
with each stroke, propelling the mythical dragon through the
vast skies. Jeweled cerulean orbs drink in the scenery, pleased
with what he had seen, he descended. The first pale rays of
sunlight as it peek over the sleeping hills as his massive body
landed on the ground causing it to shake. Soon his scales
glistened with golden specks and his body broke apart. As the
golden particles fell to the ground a man stood, long white
hair, with fare white skin and burning red pupils. Imperium had
arrived on Earth, his new home, or so he hoped.
